Re: Modifiy each Slice individually in Sampler?
Read about the Zone tab in Sampler: https://www.ableton.com/en/manual/live-instrument-reference/#the-zone-tab It's where you can select individual samples, which allows you to modify their range on the keyboard, their root key location on the keyboard, their individual controls in the Sample tab, an...

Re: Alternative to USB MIDI interface ?
Yes, the MIDI Out port on the A-800 Pro is considered a separate addressable MIDI port. I have an A-300 Pro and use it all the time.chapelier fou wrote:(Oh, and i also have a Roland A-800 Pro, connected in usb. But i don't think i can use the MIDI output independently, can i ? )

You pasted the FX after the Drum Rack container instead of after the Simpler, which is inside the Drum Rack container.Fazi Snaxx wrote:When I do that it applies to all the samples I have in the drum rack.

I was listening to that track while lurking here. Electronica and Rap - best of both worlds. Although I don't know what style of rap is in that track (Dancehall?).

Re: NEW BEAT
Yeah, that's much better. It was nice to hear that Weathermen track again. Been a while. I doubt you'll find any sample packs containing drum sounds specifically for New Beat, but that shouldn't be an issue. What's important is that the drums hit hard. And make sure you add a bit of room reverb. 4 o...

Re: NEW BEAT
That's not New Beat. Most of the tracks in that mix are early German & Belgium techno, acid house, and EBM.mpr47563634 wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dtg0v0an64
As for the synths used, Analog and Operator can cover a lot of those sounds.

Re: Launch Ableton From Last Saved Project
I'm not aware of a preference for that. However, "File > Open Recent Set" makes it pretty easy.
Also, when you save a project, Live creates a .als file in the project folder. Double-click it to start Live using that file.

Re: podcasts, streaming radio
I like listening to the current from Minnesota public radio. Wide variety of the latest and classics commercial free. In a set you might hear Peter Tosh, Franz Ferdinand, Elbow, Prince, and Jack White. Sometimes they do themed sets. Check out the playlist history to see if it works for you: http://w...

Re: What is the point in warping?
Most DJ mixes have a minimum of 8 bars. Add more if you want to introduce some elements gradually. Some genres of dance music evolve very slowly with the intent of creating more of a vibe or flow rather than energy.

Re: Record into Ableton with Bassdrum Synthesizer (Problem)
My guess is you're monitoring the audio directly from the Tri-Capture, instead of just from Live. A lot of audio interfaces have a feature that allow you to switch, or blend, between monitoring the software (Live), or monitoring directly from the audio interface (Tri-Capture). You'll also need to be...

Re: Battery 4 slite latency
Just stating the obvious here, but when testing, make sure you're using the same sample in Battery and Live, and that the sample start is at the very beginning of the sample. Also, check that Track Delay in Live is set to 0.00 ms on both tracks.

Re: What is the point in warping?
Cool. Let's get into the specifics. You might already know some of this, but for completeness, I'll cover it anyway. A DJ mix is a version of a song that is created for a DJ to use in his/her mix set. This version is usually extended in length with an intro, a breakdown after the first chorus (optio...
