Re: Ableton Live 9 Apollo Twin and Microkorg xl+
External Instrument plug is for sending midi to an external instrument and routing the audio of said instrument back into Live. If all you want to do is record your synth you need to create an audio track and select the inputs in Live that correspond with the inputs you have your Korg connected to o...

Re: Simple recording software for remote collaboration
They could send you audio files made in GB but you cannot export a MIDI file from GarageBand. hi :) I'm taking on a few projects here that will require remote musicians to record their parts (using MIDI and/or audio), then forward them to me for production. I'm using Ableton Live 9 Suite -- Ableton...

Re: Possible to have Live recording external synth...
there is a lesson in help view titled "Driver Error Compensation" which may help, but if you already know how many milliseconds your synths are off why not use the "External Instrument" device and compensate for the offset there? by chance do you have any plug ins that create a b...

Re: CPU load
perhaps make a back up and see if updating to mavericks helps? that way if you have issues you could roll back... some peeps have noted increased gains when upgrading. you can't really trust live's meter anyhow on a multicore system, you could be maxing out one core on your mac and live is taking an...

Re: Firewire Chain Help
your chain is correct. if you have a true fw800 port (on macs sometimes it's NOT a true 800 port :S), you want a fw800 device first with the 400 device(s) last otherwise you will limit the bandwidth to 400 speeds... although i reckon if you aren't streaming too many channels it prolly wouldn't matter?

Re: Audio interface/Mixer
sorry, on mac here, not sure about running multiple interfaces with windows although i'm sure it is possible though possibly not ideal for what you need. best bet is to get an interface that fits your needs, probably worth the increased cost to alleviate any headaches that may arise. just look for o...

Re: Audio interface/Mixer
you could do this if you wanted, make sure you get the right cables as most (all?) 8 channel sound cards will have 1/4" jacks and it looks like your mixer jobbie has RCA jacks, at the very least you'll need RCA to 1/4" adapters for taking RCA cables into the sound card. once you have every...

Re: Someone please sell me on the Standard edition
All very good points! And I still don't understand why they bundled such a limited version as Intro with Push. Even if they would have to make it more expensive, Maschine shows there is a market in the higher price ranges. And it's very smart to try to earn your money though hardware. People can't ...

Re: Is a "Fusion" hard drive a good idea for use w/ Ableton?
read this... personally I wouldn't risk it. go with the ssd, and an external for projects. Yeah that doesn't sound too good....I think 1TB should be enough if all I'm using the computer for is production...I can always get an external drive...any recommendations? Also is 32gb ram overkill? Should I...

Re: Mapping questions on Ableton Live
had a look at the manufacture's website, and the documentation is pretty sparse. i reckon scene 2 allows your knobs to output standard midi cc info, in which case you could put your plug in midi map mode and assign the knobs to various parameters. of course you'd have to do this for every plug you w...
