Re: ABE V SONAR Latency input Monitoring (Timeline rec audio)

Thanks again Strom. So to clarify here, are you saying the main reason for this behavior is ABE's "track delay" feature itself (and how it must be avoided for input recording integrity) http://s24.postimg.org/lfh4dk7h1/Screen_Shot_2014_10_10_at_11_17_14_PM.png or are we speaking about any ...

Re: ABE V SONAR Latency input Monitoring (Timeline rec audio)

Testing a bit more on this (after watching a workaround video tutorial) I've setup 1 Guitar MIC IN channel but set its output to another track with AMP FX. Now I only engage Input monitoring on the FX track and only record on the Guitar IN track. So in theory the Guitar track gets recorded without t...

ABE V SONAR Latency input Monitoring (Timeline rec audio)

Hi Guys, I'm sure I'm late to the party here but newly testing "Live input Monitoring" in ABE. Not so great compared with SONAR. Specifically talking about where the recorded Audio input is placed along timeline using a loopback (DAW metronome - Interface OUT into IN). My findings below: A...

Re: Live input monitoring very low when composing.

I think thats sound about right. ^^

Same levels going into SONAR seem visably higher (waveform wise) then Ableton clips

Re: Live input monitoring very low when composing.

"Trackmaster Pro" yes sorry. Your comments make sense alright. I used to use SONAR for tracking and it had a zoom function on the wave form which now I think of it, I really miss. Would be cool for Ableton to add such a feature someday too. I had been using a Condenser RODE NT1a for Vocals...

Re: Live input monitoring very low when composing.

TRackmaster 8/10 input vol but only registering about maybe around -16db (can be boosted by engaging COMP and Makeup gain but adding too much noise for me)
Ableton Live input only peaking around a 5th of the way up its meter

Re: Live input monitoring very low when composing.

Using a Rode M1 through a Focusrite Trackmaster Pro. The M1 seems to have a really low output and have to boost the Pre or the "live input gain". I have tried lowering the mix alright but I have to lower it all by near -30db. Also Ableton's waveform of the recording stays mostly at a flatl...

Re: Live input monitoring very low when composing.

"Low" meaning not quite a usable level to hear clearly what your playing within the mix. The signal in my phones IS the mix and live input monitoring in its entirety.

Live input monitoring very low when composing.

Hi Guys, Very low signal from my *live input monitoring* in context of the rough tracking mix. Raising the Mic pre too high is not such a good option as I want to avoid too hot a signal. I can add a "gain" boost on the channel but wonder is there anything else I'm missing or thoughts on ho...

Re: How to record Other Audio SW channels into DAW?

Thanks Angstrom,

So you mean I have to use a a physical output (i.e. ADAT out) and loop it back (ADAT in) with cable or theres actually a "Button" or software switch within Total Mix to do just that?

How to record Other Audio SW channels into DAW?

Hi Guys, I want to record other Software program's Output channels into Ableton but in real-time. Example: Flicking through samples and auditioning them in a separate browser program by using Input monitoring + FX within DAW. RME ASIO / Win8.1 / Audio Browser uses WDM driver but can use another with...

Re: CPU hit when routing to more HW I/O's?

Yes I only run at low latency when composing. Switch it out when mixing and only then will I need to bring up the outputs.

Good to know Guys. Many thanks!
