Re: Recording video and audio on Live 8

I just used a flip video camera and was recording directly into ableton :) I imported the sound channel from the video along with the video into ableton and just lined up both sound channels in ableton. Ok, so pretty much as discussed, and what I am going to do. Thanks for checking out my stuff! Yo...

Re: Recording video and audio on Live 8

Yeah, a friend mentioned something very similar regarding the percussive sound at the begninning... like they did in the old time movies using the action board to line up picture to sound in post production. Sound and video were recorded to separate mediums back then. At this point I am not editing ...

Re: No audience

There's a thing called Quantum Mechanics. It's the laws of physics that make sense of how things work in the microscopic world of smallness. Then there's this thing called General Relativity. It's the laws of physics that make sense of how things work in the huge world of bigness (like a planet's g...

Re: Recording video and audio on Live 8

Thanks for the reply. To answer your last question first. I want to put up videos of me "performing" my songs at home (guitar and vocals) onto youtube... My camera has got quite a nice video recording quality, but not great sound recording quality. So, in an ideal world I would want to rec...

Re: No audience

If you want to find gigs, then first go out and watch gigs. Check where are the venues where people go to to listen to music. Then get to know the people that organize those concerts. And that doesn't mean to friend them on facebook or to send them a link to your tracks on soundcloud. You need to s...

Re: No audience

Interesting and pertinant conversation. I wonder if each "generation" has its unique form of marketing / promotion that early adopters use for their success, and the rest of us try to play catch-up with, but never quite succeed to the same levels. I think of a band or two that was "ma...

Re: Recording video and audio on Live 8

Sorry for resuscitating an older thread, but on the topic of recording myself to post up to youtube.... I have an android phone with a very decent camera / video recorder. Does anyone know of an app + a way of setting up the video recording to be remotely controlled from Ableton? In other words Able...

Re: Adding Warmth to your Synth

Good ideas here, gents. The only problem I have found with running through an analog compressor is that compression, itself, can thin out a sound. But then, thats where the 1:1 setting comes in, and you're just getting the circuitry to add a little "warmth" without addional processing. As ...
