Do not use Live 4.04 on 10.3.6!! Instead, e-mail ableton asking when Live 4.05 will be available?? Also ask if it will work??? I have experienced most of the bugs from the release version and cant wait for this public beta to stop (thought it had)! Public Beta :-) yes indeed... I am on 10.3.6...may...

Live4 becomes a handycap for my work...where is the next upd

I relay could enjoy the new functions of Live 4.. I dont like to live without the swing quantise again..this really really helps...But when it comes to record 4 tracks simultaniously... my god... I feel like back in the early eighties wher 4 track recording was a challenge... And this on a Powerbook...

Isnt it a bit strange that some pseudo dj´s from europe helped the house/progressive scene in the states? One for sure this boys have everything else than a "stellar record collection" They really define the lowend of tech/house music these days.. It still sounds like maybe 94 not 2004, wi...

its rediculous to compare the two, they both serve to distict purposes in music production . This was true up to Live 3..but now Live 4 entered the ring for full featured production workstations..thats the way they promote theire software and when you look to real price value relation its compareab...

That's odd, becuase my Powerbook 1.5 runs fine compared to my Dell GX260 Desktop [P4/2Ghz] and Dell Latitude Laptop [P4/1.8]. . This is strange because i tested live on various pc systems and i found an audio optimized p3 800 systems as fast or faster for live on my 1 ghz G4 Powerbook. Pc systems f...

I dont like logic... i like to work in live... I was on logic for 8 years so i know what i am talking about. Live is the more musical tool. But when it comes to the demand of a professional sounding production or dsp usage on a mac live is still very much in the children shoes and not in the same le...

It seems for me that Live 4 sucks on a mac in general... A mail to the ableton support got answered "On my P4 system there are no problems..." I am not sure if that was a joke or a indikation that there is no big future on Mac for ableton software... At least an 800 mhz P3 is faster than m...

PC is better for Live.
This is mainly because Live dont uses all the the resources a Mac can give and the Abletons seem to be more PC experts.
At least the MAc versions of Live allways had a more critical bug state as the PC versions.

Re: Firewire 410 latency on a mac

I am on 17 ms in the moment what seems to be the lowest that dont cause any artefacts even on high processor loads... But... When i play these 17 ms with the keyboard on an vst instrument it dont sounds like 17 ms...it seems to be faster than that...maybe the latencie is not displayed correctly? usu...

Use a Lowcut filter on the BD between 20 and 30 hz, experiment with the fine tuning...a few cents up or down can make a big difference... Tuning of drumsounds usually does a better job than eq-ing alternatevly you can low cut the bass, or booth.. a matter of taste..but you allways get the clearest s...
