another softstep 2/Looper question

hi - i been using my softstep with a MFL patch for ages now to navigate my live session and record and trigger midi loops with my midi bass which i record into clips in the session and it all works fine. recently i've started to use a different instrument and a different approach - i've never used t...

Re: Send midi between Mac and PC

i use the softstep as well, the softstep 2. sorry but i'm not really sure about connecting it to 2 computers at the same time. i use it just with one computer to do the same stuff you mention and more, i just switch between softstep presets - one for movement and recording clips etc, and one for usi...

Re: (SOLVED) Live 10 crashing on startup after fresh install

hmmm - yeah i been getting these crashes too, i been sending plenty crash reports to ableton over the last few months trying to figure it out, they've been pretty helpful but it's still happening. i been thinking it's due to either: 1. one of my own mfl devices i use to interact with my controllers....

Re: Audio Editor / Editing

i have ableton pointing to Reaper as an external wav editor, but tbh i never use it, all the wav editing i do just stays non destructive in ableton. audacity is really good as well but i don't use it as Reaper (for me ) does all that it does and more

question about sample start/length in simpler

hi - if i'm playing a sample in Simpler and i have the start position and length mapped to two macros to manipulate them, is there a way to have the sample start playing again straightaway every time i move the start point? at the moment the sample keeps playing for a while before returning to the s...

mastered some old microcassette recordings

last week i was looking for something in the attic and coincidentally found a microcassette of some music me and some friends had made twenty years ago, almost to the day. i had no recollection of it at the time but since listening to it it's started to come back to me. i originally used it to play ...

i've been using Splice now and then over the last year or so. every time you hit Save it saves as a new version and all the previous versions are there archived for you

Re: improvised sessions with saxophone player

slight thread resurrection https://floatingarm.bandcamp.com/album/nine-foot-fan-reductions made a new collection of improvised pieces, some pretty minimal compared to the last group of tracks. i normally use my single string midi bass for this collaboration but for one of the sessions i had issues w...

thinking of going south america next year

hi - i'm thinking of going to a country in south america for a few weeks next year, and maybe meeting some people who are into the same sort of crap that i make: improvised, experimental, dub, drone, noise sort of stuff. maybe even doing a gig or two with someone while im there. at least collecting ...

Re: MFL acrylic collages

hi again i recently finished a couple more - the first two images on the page. the first one has some mxj autobot object stuff to use ctrl shift options to open and close the in/out section and suchlike and the second one has Netlinx code which interfaces with MFL to allow an AMX touchpanel to fully...

komoran woonekker - new experimental collaboration

https://komoranwoonekker.bandcamp.com/album/neoclassical-pest hi - this is a new 7 track album project i've been involved with for the last 18 months or so, with a fellow musician/producer from here in london. it's fairly playful and experimental, combining the unsettling surrealism of the Butthole ...

Re: John Bonham Drums

i often use a John Bonham drum loop in one of my live sets, but i sampled it from the Beastie Boys Rhymin' and Stealin'. second generation sample i guess, two degrees of seperation
