Re: iMac vs Mac Pro -- Need some advice on an invesment
I took the plunge on a 6core mac pro not too long ago...highly recommended. it was a big investment, but I can already tell that I'll be thoroughly satisfied for a long time. I can run whatever I want at 128samples (diva on divine, lots of vsts, etc), all the way thru the mix/mastering stage, with n...

Re: 4 things I need help with in Live.
1. Hold down command/ctrl while you drag the fader, that will slow it down to .1db increments. 2. You need to use the envelopes feature within the clip view. hit the little 'E' at the bottom left to bring up the envelopes editor, hit the arrow next to the envelopes section to edit envelopes, select ...

same hereTarekith wrote:Lately I've been struggling with sitting still long enough to take a track from a really good, but basic idea, into something slightly more ready for arranging. Getting ideas and finishing ideas I have no problems with, it's that middle step that I seem really bored with lately.

Re: Mac Pro (late 2013) anyone?
i'm in the market for a new computer and am looking at the new 6 core mac pro. I don't usually use more than 15 tracks in a song, but I do like a lot of CPU heavy plugs, ie Diva, soundtoys and fabfilter plugins, etc. would be nice to run things at a low buffer without the clicks and pops I currently ...

Best $100 i ever spent was on the blap kit bundle. for some reason the usb drive version is cheaper than the download-only version ($100 vs $150). but the usb drive version comes with download links too. go figure.. http://hiphopdrumsamples.com/products/illmind-special-edition-blap-drive-asr-10 this...

Re: Basic Music Structure
There is no better teacher than songs you like. Count beats and bars, listen for when things change and for how long the change lasts, picture the song on a timeline type view in your head, rinse and repeat. Eventually you will get a sense for when things should change (usually multiples of 4 or 8 b...

Re: How is Deadmau5 making the drums in this song so LOUD??
well he definitely layers his four on the floor pattern with a nice sharp hat on every beat that is slightly panned to the right, this gives a nice transient to the kick. on every two, there's and a snare slightly panned to the left , this creates a nice effect with the alternating pans of the hats ...
