I recently purchased an early 2008 2.6 MacBook Pro refurb. It's nice to have FL Studio running on VMware. :-)

The Ableton UI is a great example of the genius of simplicity.

In fact, I like it so much that I wish Ableton could skin OSX.

IOW, don't fucking touch it. Ever.

In your clip, drag the loop bracket around or map a controller knob to the loop position start. Easy.

Trigger Finger / mouseless navitation issues

I'm setting up a DJ template in Live using Trigger Finger and midiStroke on a Mac. When tapping the buttons on the Trigger Finger that I've mapped to the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT keys, the thing goes insane. Instead of moving one slot per tap, it instantaneously moves all the way to the furthest pos...

MidiStroke strangeness

Since the forums are down at charlie-roberts.com, I'll ask this question here. Maybe someone can steer me in the right direction. I'm using MidiStroke for mouseless navigation in my DJing template, and I'm getting everything working the way I want it... almost. When using MidiStroke shortcuts, it ta...

I met Kid Beyond at the movies tonight.

I went to the Balboa Theater in San Francisco last night to see WALL•E, and Kid Beyond was seated a few rows in front of me.

I went over and introduced myself and chatted him up for a few minutes. Kid Beyond is a class act and a really cool guy... just so ya know.

Could you post a larger pic? This one doesn't quite show the necessary detail.

Auto warp...

In my experience, if something comes in at 127.99 or 128.01, I round it to the nearest whole number, move my first warp marker to the proper position and go form there. Live never puts the first warp marker in the right place, but the BPM calc is very accurate. Edit: Also... let your own judgements ...

All the people whining about the Live 7 update are missing the point. The new features have been requested by many and they can't include everything in one fell swoop. FAIL. People have been asking for dual monitor support ever since the dawn of time. That guy who wears the hair net refuses to give...
