the rokits are great... dont know how they do it for the money. I have the 5s, and they are sweet. Can listen to em all day and they dont colour the sound too much at all.
When i need more volume ill probly buy a bigger set of KRKs.

i think the best way to learn is to find a few people who are at around the same level as you in ability, and then start a band!
Playing covers and your own songs, even if you can hardly play guitar/keyboard/bass, is proberbly the best way to learn.

I have a set of the rockit 5s, got em for 300 euros (for the pair). I find em very easy to listen to, they dont tire your ears out too quick like some. hey, whats the best midi controller for around 300 or so euros for live?
