Re: Weird 2013 Macbook Retina Latency Issue
Hipdeejay you do realize that Ableton recommends the 9.1 Beta for Mavericks, don't you? They've admitted problems with 9.06 and the new Mac OS. Hope the beta cures the problem, let us know. I bought a new MacBook Pro last week but returned it because the one I got had the freezing issue. Which has y...

Re: Mouse and Keyboard drop out with Maverick update
Infinate your zoom may well trigger the lock-up, but the issue precisely as you describe it: keyboard and mouse lock up but music keeps playing, happened to me in Safari, clicking on a preview of an itunes track, then again doing something else unrelated in Safari. The issue seems to be with the pub...

Re: Strange problem
Whatever may have caused your problem before, it may now be caused by a bug in Mavericks:

Re: Mavericks crashes: anyone else?
I'm having the same issue on my brand new Macbook and there seems to be an issue with this release of Mavericks. Awaiting update from Apple. This is a big screw-up on their part. http://www.macrumors.com/2013/10/28/owners-of-late-2013-retina-macbook-pros-reporting-keyboard-and-trackpad-freezes-boot-...

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
A known issue that has emerged in the last couple days, seems to be with Mavericks generally, in any case it's being reported by owners of new Macbook pro's, like me who are facing this: http://www.macrumors.com/2013/10/28/owners-of-late-2013-retina-macbook-pros-reporting-keyboard-and-trackpad-freez...

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Thanks for the input, Frank N. Furter and Rebel. So I've got my new MacBook pro. Preparing to transfer data. Apple assures me that if I do a time machine backup to an external drive from my 2008 iMac (upgraded to Mountain Lion) then plug that into my MacBook, that this will be the best way to bring ...

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Excuse my noobular question, but if I follow Ableton's advice, and install the 9.1 Beta on my new MBP with Mavericks, am I going to have to re-install once they go to release? And I'm trying to understand, why would someone (like revoltcrew below) be suspicious of Ableton's advice, wouldn't Ableton ...

Re: OS X Mavericks & Ableton Live
Okay so now Ableton is saying Mavericks is not compatible with 9.06, but with 9.1. Haven't people been saying here they are having no problems with Mavericks and the current release? :? "we have just released a knowledge base article with some information on OS X 10.9 "Mavericks" comp...

Re: After 10 years with ableton I just tried Studio One...
I just tried Presonus Studio One, their free one-month trail. But only after I'd downloaded it was it made clear that the "integrated" Melodyne was not available as part of the one-month trial. I called them, no dice. Didn't say so on their website though. So I'd wasted my time and put a b...

Re: How Can I Delete Part of An Audio Track ?????????????
I must say, I've started recording vocals in Ableton and I love it for comping way better than Audacity but for things like this, trimming or editing audio, Ableton doesn't seem great. (Unless there's something I'm missing here?) It's one thing that's making me consider Presonus Studio. Melodyne int...

Re: This Noob is in deep: seeking some feedback
Thanks Synnack. I now have tuned, EQ'd and compressed the vocals. I have 5 instrument tracks, mostly midi. Is there an easy way to get all 5 tracks to stay out of the way of the vocals, or do I have to mix each instrument individually in relation to the voice?

This Noob is in deep: seeking some feedback
So I'm inventing my own process here, and I'd love some advice from someone more Able-minded than I. I've got a rough arrangement in Ableton 9 suite, I created it by entering the chords and form of our song into Band-in-a-box, generating an arrangement, exporting the 5 tracks of midi and "Real ...

Re: 32bit vs 64 bit
I installed and set up 64bit all chuffed with my 16gb of ram. Turns out a load of things I use and need only work in 32bit and it was more trouble than it was worth, so I had to uninstall it, reinstall and setup 32bit. Wow that sucks. Perhaps that's the main reason why Ableton's instructions state ...
