Since Live is supposed to be geared towards performance (hence the name), i do not see why this would be a good idea. There are tons of other softwares to choose from for production (some of them you listed), so please don't cripple my Live!

Re: LESS DAW FEATURES!!
my 2 cents As long as Ableton continues to innovate, Live will rock. DAW or not. The problem is they seem to be slowing down on innovation these days and conforming their app to old industry standards just to attract old-school DAW user$. Live almost jumped the shark with Live8 IMO.. maybe M4L will ...

Re: Enhanced Follow Actions
this would be very nice to have indeed, but it will be super easy to do once M4L hits. so i'm guessing ableton will not bother to include such a feature.

I use Audiofile Engineering's WaveEditor. Very powerful editor with a cheap price tag.

Re: Wireless Sync Mac - problem
Hi there From experience i can tell you that it's damn near impossible to get rid of all the fluctuations in bpm. Using ethernet is better, yes, but you will still get them (not more than 0.5 bpm on my setup). Even Live to Max (or viceversa) on the same machine makes the bpm fluctuate (on the same m...

Re: why should I get a macbook pro?
Macs are fine and all, but there famous stability and reliablity is only due to the fact that the OS is simplified for moms to use 8O Dude, you obviously don't know what you're talking about. The beauty of MacOS is that yes, your mom can use it but under the hood is unix which is, for powerusers, W...

Hi all, Is there a way to make a scene launch send a single MIDI event? Right now this is what I get when launching a scene: Chan: 1 CC: 1 107 Chan: 14 CC: 1 0 Chan: 14 CC: 2 0 Chan: 14 CC: 3 0 Chan: 14 CC: 4 0 Chan: 14 CC: 5 0 Chan: 14 CC: 6 0 Chan: 14 CC: 7 0 Chan: 14 CC: 8 0 Chan: 14 CC: 9 0 Chan...

Re: change midi assignations on the fly?
yes, changing midi channels was the first thing i tried since it seemed like the most elegant solution but my controller isn't very reliable when changing channels (UC33e) and Live sometimes gets confused. plus dialing a midi channel number on stage with those small crappy buttons seems like asking ...

Re: change midi assignations on the fly?
hmmm this might work actually.. my set is pretty huge and it will be a pain to make it into different chains, but i'll give it a try anyways.

change midi assignations on the fly?
Hi all, Does anyone know of a way to change midi assignations inside a LiveSet in real-time? I want my controller to change it's assignations depending on what part of the set i'm playing (i.e. knob controls X, [the part i'm missing], same knob now controls Y not X anymore). I have Max running in th...
