Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine
I got the maschine and had it for two weeks and returned it. The work flow on the mashine is ok. but it can get confusing because really its new to every one. and it doesnt have the same work flow inside of ableton as a VST. the install was a nightmare. took me three times to get it installed prope...

Probably Being Thick Here...
I have an X-Station and have been setting up a new master template to use with the hardware and Maschine. I was looking to map the Session Record button in Live 9 to the x-stations record button but it only seems to trigger the clip - which is fine to begin with - but pushing it again does nothing. ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine
And I still can't decide whether to stick with Maschine or make the jump! I have the cash to spend on Push (or something else) and I certainly know what kind of a difference this sort of thing can make (Maschine really is fantastic) but as I primarily use Live now I'm trying to decide whether I shou...

Re: Who has dared to follow their Ableton passion?
Nothing "fucked up" about it at all to be honest. Asking on a forum does however, suggest you have doubts (understandably) and that you aren't ready to go the full hog. You are 100% right to ask around though. Im sure you wont be basing any huge life decisions on forum chat only after all....

Re: Are you getting PUSH?
I can't decide about Push which probably suggests it isn't for me. Ableton's videos and marketing get me in the mood for it but user videos to date have kind made me thing "what's the big deal about it?". I don't mean that in any insulting way to the guys who have made the effort to put vi...

Re: Is Live 9 better at communicating with Maschine than Live 8
Nothing has changed on this as far as I can tell but I didnt think anything needed changing to be honest. Never really had a problem myself.
But, functionality is currently reduced due to the Live template not being compatable with Live 9 for now. That will change soon enough though.

Re: Ableton on MacBook Pro
I use both myself much like I would say I drive a Nissan or a Qashqai (don't snigger, I have kids...) interchangeably. But, most importantly, does it matter?! No!

Re: iPad
Getting the newest iPad is the "safest" option. 2nd hand iPads or older generations just dont come down in price enough for my liking but each to their own. I connect gear via the camera connection kit (not sure how that works with the new dock connections?) or via iRig Midi/Guitar. Plenty...

Re: iPad
....buy the right one straight away... with an ipad 2 you can't join the cake anymore within the next 6 month.... all apps next to come won't run on this one anymore.... so thats almost 300 hundred bucks thrown out of the window.....go for the cheapest always ends up more expensive....true. Not ent...

Not got a video for you but I can say it works fine. I even gave beat boxing a try for a bit of a laugh (I just cant take it seriously, sorry) and it worked a treat!

Re: Ableton Melody technique's
From what I've seen, we can extract Melody, Chords and Drums to midi (not at one time). But I'd like to see a Bass to Midi function - does anyone know if this will be possible? Maybe EQ to isolate the bass, transpose up, then convert melody to midi? As long as the base is prominent enough you wont ...

Re: Ableton Melody technique's
whistling is the best method for writing melodies and now with Live 9 you can convert that to midi  yay! for audio to midi Not a bad shout to be honest. I have been using the feature a bit since I got the beta and, more often than not, it has helped me get a part sorted. Like others have said,...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine
I've been having similar thoughts, although, reading through the 9 manual, it looks like it does cover everything pretty well. The whole not being able to step sequence with a synth thing, I found to be a bit of a surprise. That would be ace. But like others have said I'd assume a lot of cool stuff...
