I browse with tabs in Safari/Firefox. Just hold Command while clicking each topic in the forum list (make sure tabs are enabled), & you'll have a stack of frame-free pagess waiting right behind yr current window.

I had a similar thing last Saturday--looping a 3 min percussion mp3 under another song, crossfading into a new song while leaving the percussion under w/no xfade assignment, around 110 bpms & 65% CPU and in the middle of the transition everything SLOWS DOWN, really obviously, like maybe 5 bpm or...
