If you can find a used AT4050 I'd go that way. We just did a record with a Shure SM7B (rock record) then for one track used a SM57 and the 57 sounded great for that track. The Rode mics tend to be too hyped in the high end for my taste.

I'll bet the one's that are tight are audio files (rendered) and the ones that aren't are midi instruments. Midi timing is really bad...

If your 24 track recordings were cut without a click track at a specific tempo you have a lot of work ahead of you. You will need to create a tempo map to do this correctly - unless you just take small loops out of your original tracks. The best way to get going is to loop up a drum track and find t...

Yeah well what ever happened to rejecting the track then? Why do you have to accept everything that lands on your doorstep? It's just more proof that the signing happens on image, not musicianship. Life sucks then you die. I'm afraid that the industry dictates the ground rules and if you want to pl...

autoune is just one of the things, thats killing talent in the industry, many of the greats did very well without autotune, and they didnt sing 100% technically perfect, perfection is not what music is about! the industry survived without autotune before! Although you're right about great tunes and...

I would personally never use Autotune (or any other pitch correction device) in an attempt to make me "sound better". If you cant sing...then you just cant sing. Every pro engineer and producer I know uses pitch correction. If you're making tunes in the POP market you have to stay with th...

I use Cre8 - and this is how. I import my vocal, say the lead and then you run a pitch detection on the file with cre8. After that I tune the bad notes and export as a new file. Then record my doubled vocal to that or backing vocals. Then I re-import the lead vocal and the new parts and correct the ...

Re: Melodyne Uno

Just did a little more research and found Melodyne Uno for ~$159 USD. Anyone used this? This will be for a project studio, so I think single track processing will be fine. I can't say enough good things about Melodyne as both a pitch correction and learning software. If you're serious about learnin...

answer: have some tracks that are mainly percussion to serve as bridges - or pick a track that has little melodic or harmonic content during the first 32 bars.

Updated site and new artist submittal page.

Hey everyone - we did a site update recently and are actively looking for new projects to sign for licensing on iTunes, Sony Connect and Beatport. I'll be totally honest though so that you don't waist time and money sending us stuff. We want a high caliber finished product that has marketability, we...
