Re: I just can't decide whether to get Live/Omnisphere or Suite!
A couple things come to mind. I have suite and find the sounds pretty inspiring for what I do. Your mileage may vary. I never use any of the suite instruments anymore, but from what I remember the abe instruments have very few (if any) effects on them, so adding some effects can open them up some. A...

Using Session View to run multi-channel clips on stage
Hi, I spend all my time in Live's arrangement view producing multi-track backing tracks that I use on stage. They are usually comprised of about 10 tracks that get mixed down to three busses (one is click, one is instruments, and the other is guitars; guitars get processed differently for FOH). Thes...

Re: Orchestral Instrument Collection vs East West Symphonic Orch
EWQL recently offered a free version of SO. It was essentially a reduced version of their silver package. If you can still get it, it will give you a good sample of the EWQL flavor of doing things. It also doesn't require iLok, which is nice.

Re: What PRO isn't using a Mac on stage?
Feel free to argue semantics. Kraftwerk still sucks. Though, I will agree that they have had a lot of influence -- on the crap that sucks today. Well, if we're going to talk about Amazing 80s Krautrock, I don't even know why we're discussing Kraftwerk. The Scorpions stepped all over Kraftwerk back i...

Well, if we're going to talk about Amazing 80s Krautrock, I don't even know why we're discussing Kraftwerk. The Scorpions stepped all over Kraftwerk back in the day. Still do. I came here looking for a Mac vs. PC flame war. Why is everyone arguing about some German 80s band? What do you mean some Ge...

Re: Artificial Double Tracking free plugin
I just saw this thread yesterday and for fun used it on a couple vocal tracks last night. It sounds great! Really really nice stereo effect and very subtle change to the vocal. I will definitely be using this in the future.

Mirroring Mac Pro on MacBook
I have a Mac Pro on which I use Live. The Pro has three different hard drives: my boot drive, another drive called "Projects" and another called "Sample Libraries." I build Live projects on the "Projects" drive. These projects load VSTs and samples from the "Sample...

Re: Need Advice on Libraries Storage for best performance
I use Ministry of Rock from an external 500gb USB drive and it works fine. Put the Play app on your internal drive and the libraries on your external.

Can anybody tell me what Hd is talking about? I am not sure what plug to use under Utility. Maybe I have a different version of Live (7014) than he does.

Hd,
Thanks for the words. The utility plug is such a good idea for automating volume. Which one do you use?

Re: Meters in Ableton: Useless?
Sorry, I meant to say arrangement view. I don't use session view too much. The only area I can drag to make wider is the track drop area with the title bar.
