Comp tracks?

I just sat through a ProTools demo by a Digi rep and he showed the comp tracks feature of v8. Basically this is looping recording, whereby you set loop points, and you just keep recording the same part (say, a vocal phrase) over and over again, with PT creating a new track each time you loop through...

Re: Performance tips for keys player

Just to add to the midi channel point, I do more or less the same thing. I have 16 ableton tracks setup, each with a different midi input channel. I have presets on a Korg Triton Extreme that that route the notes I play to the appropriate midi channel. It works great, and I have a standardized Live ...

Re: Add friend? Add foe?

Yeah, that was crazy. I was always under the impression those things have to charge up for a while after use, but what do I know about Tazers?

Re: Using Ableton With a Live Band

What does your vocalist sing through during rehearsals? Whatever that is, if you can mix your laptop into it, that would be your cheapest/easiest solution.

Re: Session drums together with Groove Monkee?

I bought some Groove Monkee sets and they did not work well with Session Drums. Some the drums (like high tom) were not mapped correctly. Most of it works, e.g., kick, snare, hihat, but if you use their fills, some of the midi notes are mismapped. Having said that, I worked with Russ at Groove Monke...

Blah, blah, blah. Geezus, I know so many torrent kiddies that lie just like you do. Oh, a dongle, how terrible! The fact is you have no experience with dongles because by your own admission, you don't use software that has dongles. You have no expertise in dongles, so enough with that line of crap. ...

More people would pay for it. There would be more development resources available. More development resources would yield a better product.

I would love to see a dongle or iLok on Live. I think it would be a better program in the end.

Plus there would be a lot fewer asshats on the forum.

The only Moog I own (or have ever owned) is a Prodigy. I know it was considered "low end" for the Moog line, but it was never very musical to me. A lot of maintenance as well. I feel the same way as you with regards to my Oberheim. No virtual synth gets all of it. The real Ob has the sound...

I have never seen a man so steadfastly opposed to getting it on. Are you gay? (and I don't ask that in a judgmental way, just trying to figure that out. Or maybe you don't want to come out on the forum. I understand that. In that case, just lie. My feelings won't be hurt.) Does she have AIDS? (ref y...

I apologize to you if I don't seem real eager to jump into a forced awkward intimate situation that people like to call dating. I don't like the feeling. You're sitting there, you're wondering do I have food on my face, am I eating, am I talking too much, are you talking enough, am I interested, I'm...

Yes now is a good time to buy. You get operator and drum machines for free, plus a discount on the upgrade to v8 should you decide to go in that direction.
