Yes.... 10,000 rpm is sweet.

But currently, the best available for a laptop is the dual 60 gig, RAID 0 @ 7200 rpm setup in this AlienWare box.

Best part is... this laptop is less than $400 more than a PowerBook 17" with 2 Gig RAM.

Alienware Area-51m 7700 There doesn't seem to be anything else on the market which can touch it, performance-wise. desktop Pentium 4 ...

I know I'm a very experienced Windows user, so maybe that has a lot to do with it? But I've certainly read/heard all the arguments abo...

Thanks for the reply. I noticed that those test numbers do not cover a Pentium 4 3.8 GHz. Seeing that the first Mac G4 doesn't even show up on the list until about halfway down, this seems to support my assumption that the Mac G4 PowerBooks are significantly behind the PC market in performance. Keep...

Laptop for Live 4

I have been using the demo for Live 4, and the program has impresed me. I'm excited about this program because it has renewed my interest in mixing music. I now wish to buy a new laptop computer and MIDI controller to work with DJing in Live. I have always been a PC user, but have considered Mac whe...
