Re: Bass Completely Crumpled on conversion to 128b mp3

First of all i gotta say i can`t listen on a proper System rigth now @work but +1 to check for Phase issues and another point I tend to think is that especially simple slightly-detuned-sine sub waves, can cause serious problems in >192kbit mp3 In those cases i Feed some smal amounts of square or tri...

Re: Yet another latency thread...

turn down your buffer size to around 64 samples, thats what works for me, the delay is so small i cant feel it anymore +1 to zalo Thats about the problem, i guess :) your Mac sounds really optimized, but the most important thing to latency is your soundcards buffer setting .Turn it down as far as p...

Re: I am going back to turntables!

You are not a DJ unless you can mix records, read grooves, pick the next song, fuck over other djs be able to nod lots and wave your arms a bit. Pose And not actually play an instrument That last bit is key... otherwise you're a musician not a DJ. I guess you can be both, but wether digital o...

Re: RIP Technics

you see i am in the boat fighting against the miss-conception that you only can mix and DJ the oldskool sounding way with turntables or control vinyl... most people simply don't know how incredible the midi mix possibilities are of programs like traktor. i was nearly 20 years a hardcore turntable f...

Re: RIP Technics

First of all  PDX2000 may have all the specs and features, but they're butt ugly. No way I'd have them in my living room. 1210s are a design classic. second that, they are design classics .. its like, if u take medium care for em they do run and run runrunrnr.... i got some and they easily work...

Re: RME fireface 800 --good on macs?

Dispite all of this, I think I'm going to plunk down the $$$ eventually for the Fireface UC. I like the idea of using the UC with a 17" MacBook Pro, a large firewire external drive, and a UAD2 Solo card in the expressport. Of course, since the UC isn't compatible with my old G5, I'll have to b...

Re: Advice on setting up my monitors (pic's inside)

Just my 2 cents, but i`d position the cabinet on the back wall, cause i guess its the highest piece of furniture you got. Putting it on the (or to be more exact: one) side might cause early and uneven standing waves on that one side.

Re: Sad sad news - Domu quits music

Came to my mind, that only a few of the people on the board would know bout his work, though those stating he will be back in a week or so did not follow his work/blog at all. he'll be on a world tour after a week of coming home smelling like french fries. I guess you did not even read the post. If ...

Sad sad news - Domu quits music

Guess only a few would chime in, but the sad news is Dominic Stanton (Domu, Rima, Bakura, Umod...)stops making music. Being long time in the game and making brilliant soulful music for 10+ years on a 9 to 5 plus DJ-Gig basis he lost his will to move on. Spotlight on his reasons and quite an interest...
