Re: NI Komplete 8 is coming!
I have Komplete 6, and as with Komplete 7 and 8, there isn't enough "new" in it, to make me want it. Same boat here and I felt the same about K7, but you never know what Kontakt 5 and Guitar Rig 5 will hold. Although I'm starting to wonder what else they can really do. I'm a bit worried t...

Re: Amp reivews
My 2 cents - I like a lot of ableton's bundled instruments (not fx) and softube's vintage amp room is the best guitar I've found and Ive tried them all. Amp - while it can have it's uses in a mix, when it comes to realistic amp sims it's not anywhere near the league of vintage amp room to my ears. A...

Thanks for replying but I don't quite get your response. Does that mean my assertion is right or wrong? Cheers.

Re: More quantize options please!
Ah! That could be an awesome idea. Would this work - record a Straight kick on quarter notes, extract groove, then if I apply that to a guitar part, only the quarter notes on the guitar track are quantised and the eights are left alone. Is this right?

Stop on transport to stop audio! Who wouldn't want this?!
When you press stop, audio on some vst instruments continues which I find pretty annoying. In fact I'm not sure how anyone wouldn't find this annoying. Here's a quick chat with Ableton support on the issue (these guys are awesome - note the detailed explanation rather than simply saying "this i...

Re: Kontakt 4 vs Sampler.
I have both and would choose Kontakt 4, because with jbridge you can run it outside of Live's memory and avoid memory issues. It also has higher quality bundled content and lots of third party support for new instruments. But for pure sampling, I'd use sampler for it's simplicity.

Re: 64BIT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Agree that most, but not all, plugs will have 64 bit versions available. A potential work-around until everything goes 64 bit is something like jBridge (see for example http://andrewlandry.com/2010/12/the-move-to-64-bit/) which can allow 64 bit plugs to work with a 32 bit host (like Ableton) or use...

Re: Live not saving Spectrasonics Patches
I found all kinds of problems with spectrasonics stuff not remembering patches and opening them up as blank using the vst version, so gave up on it all. I've never had a plugin that worked so badly with live, so I'll stay clear of spectrasonics but it's not a problem as there are tons of great synth...

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!
Hey does anyone else get a bit annoyed when producing tracks all the plugin window open state and positions are forgotten on saving and re-opening? I can see how this feature would be just as useful for the live live users too. Again I'm baffled why such a seemingly simple feature isn't already ther...

Re: Preferences-window should remember it's position
I know this is an post but I can't believe it still hasn't been implemented. It would be the single biggest time saver to my production. I really hope it's on live 9.

Re: Single keystroke shorcuts
Agree, and in general vast improvements on both mouse and keyboard customisation are needed in my opinion to compete with other daws for production.
