To quantize your midi, select all (ctrl/apple A) and then Ctrl/Apple U to quantize and you can set how strict you want the quantize to be.

For Audio use warp markers to stretch the audio to occur when you want it to using the appropriate warp mode.

Here is a vid I made on setting up Live as a guitar looper using a midi foot controller, in this case the much maligned but works just the saem anyway, FCB1010.

This is what I meant really. If you don't know ( or didnt know )how to record in session view clips, you couldnt have read the manual. Same with timing. You don't have to play the midi drums in, you can draw them in. or record them in and use the quantize button to correct your timing. Check Quantiz...

I din't know what kind of samples you are thinking of layering drums over...samples could be anything of course, spoekn word, singing, synth noises, effects, drums, etc.etc. But personally i think that's a red herring...you need to focu on your drum programming. The easiest way, if you are on Live 7...

The drum pads in Live are associated to specific midi notes. If you load up a drum rack you'l see those notes in each drum pad. You need to program your MPD24 to send out those notes. Hit the note and the drum pad will be triggered. While you are at it, and this i just good practice, change the midi...
