I mean SSL4000 by Waves is different from original but sounds very nice and musical for me and its value for money vs. original is by far much bettertimothyallan wrote:everything is perfect in one way or another.

Hello, Live´s CPU does monitor the load of Live´s audio engine only, not the GUI etc. Best, Christian If Live monitors only its audioengine why shows almost twice as big CPU load than system which monitor everything together included Live audioengine? I ask this because I did some tests of performa...

Live CPU meter vs. Activity Monitor (iStat CPU)
I noticed a big difference between Live CPU meter and system monitors. In Live Performance test I got 19% CPU load but Activity monitor and iStat widget showed only 9%+1% (user+ system). Why such big difference?

Re: Live crashes with Kontakt 3 on Intel Mac (software uptodate)
HI. Live crashes after repeated reloading of different patches in Kontakt 3... In Standalone Kontakt seems to work solid... Any suggestions ? PS: Libraries ar one external harddrive... You need to be more patient. There is no crash If you are able to wait for longer time necessary to load patch. I ...

select all effects and right click -> group. Now you have an on/off switch. :) thnx but this is useful only for one track or for very small projects. try selecting FX plugins one by one track by track in bigger project (50 tracks and more)... You don't have to sselect effects one by one, jus...

On my Q6600 home-made PC, with the RME Multiface and PCI card, at 32 samples, my CPU usage is 0% with 1 input and 2 stereo outputs active. this is the reason why I made this thread. I am looking for very low latency solution with low CPU usage. Multiface II + PCIe is on my list. Still waiting for r...

Why do you need 32 samples ? Are you tracking a live band or a live drummer ? (64 would be more than sufficient) If you're mixing, or playing back 512 would be more than sufficient. Many systems can never achieve 32 samples anyway, my Pentium 4 3.2 Ghz can only run Live at 128 samples (or direct mo...

Live 7 CPU load with 32 samples latency (OSX)
How is your CPU usage in empty project with 32 samples latency?
No inputs selected, 1+2 stereo output selected, 44100Hz
My result is 10%
My setup:
Mackie Onyx 400F, Mac Pro 8-core 2,8GHz, 6GB RAM
Looking for better solution (RME, MOTU, Apogee....) ?

Cannot confirm. I changed from Mac to (a correctly configurated) Windows PC and Live's working very well. But this is, like yours, just a single opinion. I agree that you can use PC and Live with no problem. But I talk about the same projects with the same plugins with the same soudcard but with di...

Re: Mac better for Live than PC
I changed to Mac platform and need to say "Live is much more stable on Mac". I do not know why, but there is no crash during week lasting project with my huge amount of third party plugins. True - but what about the loss in third party sound quality? I did not notice this. Is that truth?
