Re: USB Soundcards
Can anybody suggest any other good USB Cards for my laptop. I bought a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1. It only has one XLR input and it has no inserts (I think the FTP had 2 XLRs and 2 inserts) but I decided to splash out on the extra for it as I'd read a lot of conflicting reports on the Fast ...

Re: Making Your Own Instruction Vids For Ableton
Let me explain....when you get future music mag etc they have videos on how to do stuff in logic for example. You dont see the person just the mouse and screen in firs-person. In the recent "production masterclass" with JD73 you can see him working on the laptop, but there's another scree...

Re: Dead on
What kind of keyboard should I buy being "Fresh off the boat", that is good for beginners and will be worth the buy down the road, since I tend to pick things up pretty fast? Get yourself an M-Audio Axiom (49 is probably best) and read through some of the info in this thread. http://www.a...

The axiom is a slick tool IMO, I hear a lot of people having problems with it, so I hope that helps somehow. The Axiom 25's don't seem the most reliable in the world - I've seen a lot of complaints about them failing. Mine failed 1 day after I started using it though the replacement has been fine. ...

Come on - I'm sure the A3000 is cool and has awesome filters from what I've heard. But the struggle... Software is definitely more convinient when it comes to samplers. Definitely. I agree. But there's something about pissing about with hardware that I love. There's also the fact that I don't own m...

As far as old hardware samplers are soncerned, do they have to read from their own floppy drives or can I somehow get them to access my external drive? I know with the Yamaha A3000, you can fit an internal HD, or replace the floppy drive with an internal Zip drive. Also, it has a SCSI connector on ...

The only thing about it is that the mic preamps aren't very powerful and are rather noisy at the top end of the gain setting. For instance, if you plug in an SM55 mic, and crank up the preamp gain to the proper setting, preamp hiss is very audible. Cheers for this info. For full band recording I'm ...

Alternative to M-Audio Fast Track Pro
Hi, Sorry to pollute the forum with yet another query about audio interfaces. I'm looking for an audio interface, but due to my getting married later this year, it has to be on a strict budget. My specific requirements were USB (laptop has no Firewire), XLR and 1/4" inputs supporting mic, line ...

I believe Peter Garrett from 'Midnight Oil' (Oz Band) learned a great deal of his dance moves from Curtis. Personally I doubt this as Garrett was already dancing in this style before Joy Division were big. The Oils were on the go (in one form or another) from the early seventies, whereas JD came al...
