Tips/hints for running vocals thru Live at a gig ....?
Ok, so I know lots of people don't recommend running vocals into Live in a live situation, but many people seem to actually do this, and seemingly with great results. So I was hoping to get some + feedback here from those of you who have done this, and some insight into the do's and don'ts of sendin...

Using an Axis 49 & an Akai APC40 simultaneously ..?
Ok, so a midi, CC, etc newbie question. I used my Axis 49 & an Akai APC40 simultaneously with Ableton Live for gigging with. Everything going great with the Axis as a vst synth controller, until I assign the pads on the APC40 to stuff. Suddenly some of my F and A keys aren't working. They're con...

Re: Running audio on Live in a live situation - external HD?
have a look at this http://www.harmonycentral.com/docs/DOC-1834 it works perfectly & no need for an external drive. Here is an ableton thread https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=81880 Right then! I'm seriously intrigued about this one. I'd heard/immediately dismissed the idea of this befo...

Running audio on Live in a live situation - external HD?
So... I run audio as my backing tracks/beats/noises in Arrangement View at gigs. I use midi markers and a pad controller to trigger the start points of these. There are up to 8 audio tracks per song, maybe 10 songs in a set. I currently have a 2011 Macbook Pro, with a 5400 HD, 8GB ram. My question i...

If they do, what will that tell me?massenmedium wrote:Did you see if the indicators at the top right for CPU/DISK light up when the sound drops out? Re: Live doesn't like playing multiple simultaneous long clips?
Er, isn't that the same thing? There's eight simltaneous tracks (or clips if you prefer) playing of around five minutes length each. ? Well, no - there's still like 45 minutes of tracks still to come in the set, so 10 x more the audio. It's eight tracks playing at any one time. Really don't think i...

Yeah, I've done that already.glenn303 wrote:If you edited/chopped up audio, cropping the clips might help.
I suppose the question is, does Live spaz out if it's playing lots of simultaneous long clips, or does it prefer lots of simultaneous short clips?

Re: Live doesn't like playing multiple simultaneous long clips?
No, eight five minute tracks should be no problem at all, especially if they are all 44.1k / 16bit. Are they warped, set to RAM? Is it the CPU struggling or the disk? Well, I just get sound dropouts. It's not actually (!) 8 x 5minute tracks... it's more like 10 songs, each with 8 tracks, each one 4...

Live doesn't like playing multiple simultaneous long clips?
Do you find that Live doesn't like playing multiple loooooong clips all at once? Messes with CPU/there are sound dropouts, stability issues, etc? I've had a few sound drop outs in the past, but since I've just upgraded to a Macbook Pro, I'm hoping that now won't be the case. I've a few tracks runnin...

Re: HELP! Confused about these pre-existing Session View Scenes!
You can see for yourself by keeping shift pressed, then using the option "New Live set" from the file menu. This creates a new system-default Liveset and you'll notice those names to be gone. Thanks - I did the shift-New Liveset thing, but after I close that set, this default one reappear...

HELP! Confused about these pre-existing Session View Scenes!
So when I open up Live from scratch and switch to Session View, I see these clips on the master track saying 'Intro', 'Build A', etc. Now I never use Session View (just Arrangement for recording/arranging my songs), so I'm wondering why these are there, and how do I get rid? : http://i28.photobucket...

You know that little help window that tells you about whatever you mouse over? It's pretty useful!  this makes a good case for Operator being good for a noob to start with, integrated help in the DAW. if you're not failing you're not trying. go forth and fail! $5 wouldn't be worth my t...

Re: $5 if you can create me this sound in an Operator preset! :)
It's really not that hard. All you need is 2 oscillators playing sine waves in a 1:1 ratio. Adjust the level of osc B till you get that vocalish sound. Apply a low pass filter somewhere between 1 and 3 kHz. Set the filter envelope decay quite low to get that initial click. Maybe apply a pitch envel...
