Re: Live 9 Sidechain routing?
You could always add a track which takes as input your kick, and outputs to the sidechain input of your compressor. Ugly, but it works (even in 8 )

Re: Live 8 switches itself to 48000
It may be due to connecting an external peripheral to your UFX which then sets its own clock as master. And it depends: you should use the sampling rate that most of your files use. For instance if you recorder lots of materials @ 44.1 khZ it's better to revert at 44.1, however, if you just recorded...

Re: Where are the USB 3.0 audio Interfaces?
A bit of calculus : USB2 bandwith (theoretical) is 480 Mbit/s 1 channel @ 96khz / 24bit means 96000 * 24 = 2.19 Mbits per second. 480 / 3 (yep, I round it to the superior value) means... 160 damn theoretical channels at 96khz with usb2. Even if we take the half, which is a pretty real value, we have...

Re: How do you produce?
Depends of the song... Generally with my band we first compose a song with gutar pro, then we try to play it, then we start meddling with live, but only in arrange view, session view isn't really adapted to our music... But tonight I just had to make a two-minutes "song" which was meant to...

Re: sample and bit rate conversions on mix down
IIRC Ableton use floating point so you shouldn't have to dither. For resampling, it all depends on the sampling rate of your project : every imported audio clip will be resampled to the sample rate of the project (ex. : 48 -> 44.1 if you work with movie samples) So some might say that you could use ...

Re: Slow rendering - and very little CPU usage
If you use outboards effects or synths live will render in real time, so it will always be the same speed.
Else, it's a bug ^_^

Try running memtest86 (google it); it may take a while but you will know if you have to change ram

Re: 44.1kHz vs. 88.2kHz
It depends, if for instance it uses a FFT it doesn't really matter since you won't work in the time domain but the frequency domain.
And well.. Just try ^^ pitch down heavily a file @ 44 khz and the same file @ 96khz

Re: 44.1kHz vs. 88.2kHz
You all seem to forget, people, that one of the main benefitis of high samplerates, is that it prevents aliasing due to poorly designed virtual instruments. (aliasing is when frequency is generated over the nyquist frequency and the sampling makes a "come-back" of these frequencies in reve...

Why not trying to add some wood to the sound ?
Seriously, why not just redoing your recording ? It was maybe just the singer that was one inch leftier or something like that...
