Re: adding video to ableton live show
If you put your video in the arrange view you can put markers at the start of your video clips and MIDI map them. Then you can trigger the video clips with the same MIDI triggers you're using for audio clips or scenes in the session view. I think this should work when you're resampling as well. You ...

Re: Latency Issue with live Instrument's
You can also try the "reduced latency when monitoring" option, and if you have access to the control panel for your interface (like an ASIO panel) you can try reducing the buffer size. If you go down too small it will start to break up but you should have some leeway. If neither of these w...

Re: VCA Fader simulation?
You should be able to MIDI map as many faders as you like to one control.

Re: Anyone using a M-Audio Radium 49?
Yes, you can make that happen, select "Radium 49/61" in control surfaces (at the top). The control surface input on mine says "legacy keyboard MIDI in" and "legacy keyboard MIDI out" in the input/ouptput fields, I think this is what the current set of M-Audio drivers ca...

Re: "Ableton Live 8...confidential info...keychain". ..WHAT?
That would probably be the 8.3.1 update arriving and needing permission to install. I've had 8.3 for a bit, saw this message for the first time today, clicked OK, now I'm on 8.3.1.

Re: What do I do with folders after installation?
Hey guys, Just completely uninstalled 8.0.1 Ableton suite and re-installed 8.3 via the Ableton site. (Mac OSX Lion) In addition do downloading the disk image for the newer version of Ableton, I had to go through my 4 disk set of Suite (I bought the actual physical box with Ableton a while back. I c...

Re: record midi
I am sure this is simple but I am getting sporadic results ie sometimes the midi records and sometimes it doesnt and I dont know why. I have a midi track and in that track I have inserted a midi clip. I have a roland handsonic connected via midi and when I hit a pad on the handsonic I see a yellow ...

Re: APC 40 cannot setup for life of me!
Have you set it up as a control surface in the fields at the top of the MIDI sync page? Above the normal MIDI settings. "Control Surface", "Input" and "Output" should all read APC40 (although for some reason on our old work PCs it reads as "AKAI USB audio device&qu...

Re: Triggering video while performing live
You can do this with locators. Put a locator at the start of the video, Midi map it to the same key as you're using for the scene, then the scene will trigger the video as well. You can do this with more than one video as long as all the videos are on the same track, and use the arrange page loop br...

Re: listening simultaneously through headphones & monitors
OK, I'm hoping I'm pitching this right and not telling you something you already know. Your soundcard has two inputs (one mic and one guitar), so you can only hook up two things at once. The number of outputs (which people have been talking about regarding the Fast Track Pro) doesn't matter for that...

Re: listening simultaneously through headphones & monitors
Having said that, is all you want to do listen simultaneously to the music in phones and monitors? Or do you want to do something more complicated like send click to phones but not the monitors? First, I faced the problem of being disable to connect a mixer to ableton because of the absence of the ...

Re: listening simultaneously through headphones & monitors
I use M audio gear because I've found it to be pretty robust. We use 20 Fast Track Pros at the college where I work and the students haven't managed to break any of them in four years. Sound quality is fine for the money IMHO. Having said that, is all you want to do listen simultaneously to the musi...

Re: Issues with live 8 and the mBox pro 3
There's a known issue with a Pro Tools driver (if you have an MBox 3 I'm guessing you have PT....) in Lion. We had what sounds like this issue on our work Macbook and removing the driver cured it (even though it's a MIDI driver....go figure). Look for DigiDioMidiDriver and remove it. It doesn't seem...
