Re: MIDI Remote Scripts - Introduction to the Framework Classes

Let me preface my question by saying I'm awful at computer languages. They're slowly making more sense to me, but I wanna run before I walk. Does anyone know if it would be possible to use two devices in conjunction with each other with the same script? For instance, I'd like to get my Launchpad and...

Re: Cheap, small-footprint controller to go with the APC20

You could try the Kore Controller. Sometimes it's a bit fickle to set up as a standalone midi controller, but it's eight buttons and eight endless rotaries.

Behringer, if you're listening, you would make a killing on a device like this. Just make it more BCR than POS.

Re: I still want the S4...

I'll keep my Vestax VCI-100. After the Kore fiasco, NI will have a very hard time convincing me to give them money (I'm willing to make an exception for Reaktor 6, and the occasional Traktor update).

LOL. It's too damn cold up there.

I'll have to get in touch once I'm up there. It could be a while, though. Immigration is a bitch.

Re: considering a mopho but hesitant about the editor...

Maybe you should also look into some of the other analog monosynths in that price range.

Doepfer Dark Energy
Novation Bass Station?
Yamaha CS-5?
Moog Slim Phatty (okay, it might be a bit more)
Mochika XL

Certainly these all have their pros and cons.

Re: considering a mopho but hesitant about the editor...

Buy the keyboard version.

Also, editing the mopho desktop from the frontpanel isn't really so difficult (at least compared to editing any of the mid to late 80s synths with one slider and a 16x2 LCD screen, or a Yamaha TX81Z) :D

Re: Anyone in Calgary?

I will be moving to Calgary soon. My wife just moved there, and I'll be moving as soon as I get the proper legal documents.

How is the electronic music scene in Cowtown? I didn't really have time to check it out when I was there.

Re: Let's talk less expensive but good hardware synths..

The JX8Ps are notorious for having sticky keys and non-functional aftertouch. Not to worry though- it's a fairly easy diy fix. Just search online for a tutorial on how to fix the aftertouch, and it'll show you how to clean the contact strip, take it apart, etc. I haven't done it myself yet, but my J...

Re: Good 12-bit Akai S950 style Rack?

Someone posted an SP-1200 rack a while back. Great results! You could track that down and see if does what you're looking for, or modify it to your needs.

OS X Backup external fat32 to hfs+?

Hey everyone. A while ago I was asking about making bootable backup of my internal iMac disk. Now I'm trying to backup my external fat32 drive (used for compatibility between my mac and pc) to that same hfs+ disk. Does anyone know of the best solution for this? I think winclone will do it, but I tho...

Re: How do you make your live set seamless?

I've looked into clyphx and macrobat a bit, but didn't really put in the time to learn or master their full potential. In short, can they be used to do what Kapture basically does, but in a more, er, native fashion?
