only issue i've had is that it is a total cpu hog. works well though. (still getting used to the interface, as i just recently started using it.) I don't like the Kontakt interface. It's too off-putting like most Native Instruments software. If you prefer intuitive, inviting interfaces, stay away. ...

515 views and 15 replies so far to this thread. i'd have never found out about your release if it wasn't for someone selling your track on ebay  hmm... i wouldn't be surprised if the original poster is also behind the so-called ebay bootleg. just saying. seems like a somewhat clever/desperate...

I do like the sonic character of the MPC and the solid timing. I also like having other options to play with around the studio. I know that some people say that the MPC "sounds better" and has that "MPC swing" but if those were the only advantages I wouldn't have bought the MPC....

You can also do the same with controlaid, right? With a Griffin Powermate for example.

MPC + Drum Rack = Match made in sampling/slicing heaven?

I recently got a MPC1000 to use with Live and I'm in love with this setup like many here are . I couldn't believe when I saw the Drum Rack video for the Live 7 announcement. It was such an awesome surprise. I don't need any more soft synths but I'll be upgrading to 7 just for this. I much prefer MPC...

Re: controlAid 1.4 - midi matrix / powermate control

It also adds 6 keystrokes to control controlAid, four of which can be configured to send any noteOn message you choose. The other two are used to select which channel controlAid is outputting on. Using this with a Griffin PowerMate, you can do the following: 1. Select any clip and start it playing ...

Alternative to Lucifer?

I was interested in Lucifer but since it's no longer available , I'm wondering if there are other similar plugins available right now. I heard that Devine Machine is going to replace Lucifer with a similar product but who know when that would be... I was mostly interested in Lucifer for real-time cu...

Peak Pro does everything I need. Wave Editor looks cool though, especially the photoshop style layer thing. If it can do everything Peak can, I'd consider it.

Live's crossfader moves slow and not enough with x-session

Moving the crossfader on my x-session (assigned to live's crossfader) in Live 6 is not fully in sync with the movement on screen. No matter which crossfader curve setting I use, the movement in Live itself is slower than the actual movement on the x-session. Not only does it move slower on screen, i...

Looks cool. I couldn't use it though since on my powerbook (667mhz G4 w/ 1GB ram) I was getting 160% CPU with 3rdordertrauma's version. And with the audio version, as soon as i started moving the chain selector knobs, the CPU jumped to over 100%. I guess I'll have to try build my own stripped ...

I have a powerbook so can't run xp and I don't really want to run vpc.

Yeah, I had just found Kerrstinn but the zip file is corrupted or something. I downloaded it twice and got an error both times but not with their other plugs. I'll contact Shuriken.

Re: like Beatcreator but for Mac OS X?

Get Recycle. Recycle doesn't do what I'm looking for. The only thing it has over Phatmatik is that it can lock slices but it doesn't have a randomize slices function either. Beatcreator allows you to lock certain slices, press Random and have only the unlocked slices randomized and export the whole...

Slicer w/ Randomize like Beatcreator but for Mac OS X?

Is there something like the Zero-X Beatcreator for mac? I watched a video of Beatcreator where you can load an audio drum loop and have it sliced either by hitpoint detection or quantization and then you can move slices around, lock certain slices, replace and timestretch slices, and has a randomize...

Re: instant mapping/auto mapping

It's essentially the same end result, you just have to do a little bit of setup yourself, defining controller mappings in a config file. With the photon x25, you won't even have to do the config file thing as it is supported by Live's instant mapping. You'll just have to use the preferences menu. T...

Re: Am I being stupid? Midi Presets on Alesis Photon X25

I have an Alesis X25 Midi Controller and Audio Interface. It has a few knobs on it, but I've given up using them because the only way I can figure out to use them is to (in EVERY single project) use live's midi-mapping function for every single track parameter I want to edit. This is extremely tedi...
