I do like the sonic character of the MPC and the solid timing. I also like having other options to play with around the studio. I know that some people say that the MPC "sounds better" and has that "MPC swing" but if those were the only advantages I wouldn't have bought the MPC....

You can also do the same with controlaid, right? With a Griffin Powermate for example.

It's essentially the same end result, you just have to do a little bit of setup yourself, defining controller mappings in a config file.
