Re: Dodgy Technology quotes needed - help!
pretty sure this is the one you're looking for (Newsweek 1995): http://www.newsweek.com/1995/02/26/the-internet-bah.html And here is an article from this year discussing the 1995 piece: http://www.newsweek.com/blogs/techtonic-shifts/2010/03/02/let-s-talk-about-the-1995-newsweek-piece-that-says-the-i...

Howdy folks, I'm going 100% "virtual" so I'm selling off my Prophet 08 rackmount module. This is the PE edition - uses pots instead of flaky encoders. In excellent condition. Comes with original packaging and accessories (box, manual, power supply, rack ears). Asking $1025 which includes g...

Re: Anybody own a Moog Voyager or Little Phatty?
yeah, polyphony was the deciding factor. I played with a Little Phatty for about an hour in a guitar center a couple months ago and while I liked the sounds coming out of it (particularly the immense bass) I found that it's sonic palette to be too limited for me. But for the stuff I do and the stuff...

Re: Anybody own a Moog Voyager or Little Phatty?
I suspect the biggest question you have to answer for yourself is whether you are willing to live with a monosynth. That depends greatly on what kind of music you want to make with it. funny you should say that - I just ordered a Prophet 08 Module  I'm a "pad man" mostly so I went wi...

Anybody own a Moog Voyager or Little Phatty?
I'm this close to pulling the trigger on either a Voyager RME or a Little Phatty. Just wanted to get some opinions from current owners. I've been thinking of getting an analog synth for awhile and had my eye on the Prophet 08 but I figured if I'm going to go analog, I might as well go really analog ...

Re: I want a nice keyboard instrument
I've heard good things about the Korg SV-1:
http://www.korg.com/sv1
Has pianos, electric pianos, organs, string synth
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/oct09/a ... orgsv1.htm
I'm thinking of getting one myself but can't find a place that carries it nearby to give a go at it.

Re: What's up with the Props???????????
Insults? Where did that come from. I was merely confirming that it is ironic. I understand exactly what you're saying. That is not an insult. Maybe I used the wrong smilely. How is this one? oops! I thought you were being sarcastic (I thought the "awwwh" bit was your way of sayi...

Re: What's up with the Props???????????
I wouldn't care if Reason didn't have slicing if it wasn't for the fact that the Prop' themselves "revolutionized" transient slicing with Recycle in the first place! Awwwh! The irony of it all. :| no need for insults I'm not a Reason hater or anything (though I do stand by my hatred of Re...

Re: What's up with the Props???????????
No built-in recycle-like slicing = major fail. Props always talk about workflow but there is no worse workflow for working with sliced material than having to open a file in recycle, slice it, export it, open reason, browse for Rex file and open it in dr. Octorex. I can't believe they finally inclu...
