Re: live9: has the VST-plug sluggishness/problems been repaired?
And also the not-dying Live8.x.x.exe problem (in Windows) would be interesting to know if they did anything to it. I think this is a windows problem (xp? can´t recall it happening on 7) with usb. I always got the program to quit by unplugging a certain midi device. And i remember having read that t...

Re: Vocals sound metallic
Are the plugins/fx on the two channels you are sending from the same? I get timing problems if there´s a time dependent plugin in the chain (like a synced lfo). I think it´s a problem with the plugin delay compensation (pdc) not working right under certain conditions, there´s some info on here about...

Re: sampling from vinyl
If you Consolidate a clip, it normalizes. (The trick is to look at the 'clip' volume, which gets turned down). Mine doesnt? It factors in the clip volume but doesnt normalize. To OP: check your interface´s settings, sounds like it expects a +10db level and your preamp delivers -4db. Another tip: cl...

Re: pich bend
The effect of the pitchbend depends on the settings in the instrument receiving the pitchbend data. A commom default setting is +/-2 semitones.
To know the note playing (which is useful in many situations) i either use a tuner or my trusted melodica.

Not directly.
Freeze the tracks and take the audio from your project folder.
No midi though

Re: Desktop Mixer Advice
I like the ALLEN & HEATH ZED-10, good quality and features. Might be overkill, although it´s always good to have some spare channels imo. The stuff recommended so far should be good, too. Mackie, Soundcraft have a good value for the money, but i would avoid going cheaper. Another cheap way to connec...
