Are the plugins/fx on the two channels you are sending from the same? I get timing problems if there´s a time dependent plugin in the chain (like a synced lfo). If you Consolidate a clip, it normalizes. (The trick is to look at the 'clip' volume, which gets turned down). Mine doesnt? It factors in the clip volume but doesnt normalize. The effect of the pitchbend depends on the settings in the instrument receiving the pitchbend data. A commom default setting is +/-2 semitones.

To know the note playing (which is useful in many situations) i either use a tuner or my trusted melodica.

Don´t know of a vst, but if you have M4L you can do it the way paulmaddox described plus Ben Juodvalkis´ Modulator
