Pretty much everything in my live set is done the way Bill recommended, (which means the set's ...

Re: Midi command repeat? / default clip length whil recording?

It's easy enough in Arrange mode with punch in/out, but in Session mode it looks like you'll be needing some sort of third-party shit.

Re: Make the currently selected scene/clip more visible?

Hm. I seem to recall a thread (which of course I can't find) about creating scripts for virtual devices or something...some kind of APC emulation that would allow you to create a big red box around your selected scenes...it wasn't too long ago, maybe a month back? I'm drawing blanks.

Re: My Nanokontrol just got HUGE

It's looking like next week for the blog; I'll put the link up here when it's done. And if anyone here is in NYC, I'm doing a set at Don Pedro's on Friday night where this thing will probably catch fire and ruin lives. Come get loaded!

Re: My Nanokontrol just got HUGE

Yeah, I'm writing a blog post about it with pictures and stuff, in part for my dumb self to remember what the hell I did. It's basically 2 PCBs, one from the nanokontrol and the other from a qwerty keyboard. I saw someone did a foot controller thing here with the pc keyboard chip so I stole that ide...

My Nanokontrol just got HUGE

See?

Make the currently selected scene/clip more visible?

I'm wondering if there's some way I can make the session view crosshairs (clip/scene selection x/y) more apparent than it is. When I'm playing live and I'm not right next to the screen, it's hard to tell which scene and which slot is selected. Is there some way I can create an APC-style Big Red Box ...

Re: decent gater plug in

betabugs makes a cool stereo MIDI gate, i think it's called the gletabitch or something. i haven't used it recently but I used to use it all the time; it never gave me any problems.

Is the rewire delay still an issue?
definitely an issue. i got reason 4 and the newest version of Live, and it's always out of sync by (near as i can tell) the exact number of samples in the buffer. it sucks, but reason's worth it. one of these days i'm sure they'll get around to fixing it.
