analog guitar preamp into Cab rocks (in a parallel rack)
Thought I'd share this trivial concept I'm sure I'm hardly the first to have thought of or used, but maybe other low-end-of-the-food-chain Live users like me will find it useful: I play a lot of guitar and my system has been to run my 'physical' amp's preamp into my interface, into a cab sim, throug...

Re: 64 bit/32 bit Windows 7
Be ready for some pain on the fringes though. I feel a lot of audio industrials wrote off 64bit when Vista tanked, and when win7 came and it all suddenly worked flawlessly they were kind of caught off guard and not all have caught up equally well. I have 64bit on my new laptop and it runs essentiall...

Re: Happy birthday osborn 1
I actually still have one in the attic. Word Processing involved using prefixes like ^S^U. Pretty wild. I wrote a few school papers on it, using an Epson external RS232 8dot-matrix printer, how I managed I do not know. The hardware setup was pretty awesome though considering, dual 5 1/4' and all. Th...

Re: Using guitar fx board to control live.
Short version is you can't, sensibly. Guitar pedals transmit midi program changes, that's so you can integrate them with an external effects board as in "I select patch 121 'Cool Drive' and I want my reverb FX to go to patch 097". But Live doesn't do anything with program changes, only mid...

Re: Fuck you, and your 30% off!
Put it in this perspective.. in total everyone is getting 30% off. Normal suite+m4l download= $1000 Normal m4l download= $300 Total discounted= $300 Total price payed= $700 last i checked that's a 30% discount. In other words: In total everyone is getting 30% off. (Wait, that's not in other words. ...

Re: Using Live with a rock band on stage
Also don't forget that if you have a loop running already and tap the tempo then, the loop will get warped. Unless it's a drum beat, that will not sound pretty.
I've looked into this as well and I think a click track is the only viable solution.

Re: Removing voice from a song
Photosounder does pretty well depending on the track (i.e. how 'visible' the vocal element comes out in the visualisation). It's not exactly cheap for commercial use ($150 or so), but it's aiming to be kind of a photoshop for audio and getting pretty close. If it's a one-time thing maybe ask someone...

Re: looping live audio
The looper records audio technically differently than the regular clip-slots? I always assumed looper was basically just a new frontend for the standard clip record engine.chapelier fou wrote:wasoota : using looper = writing 20 minutes of audio in RAM. Thinking of it, it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: looping live audio
Am I missing something or why aren't you using looper? Just off the top of my head, you'd probably need a dummy track from arrangement view to set the loop length (before hitting record, so looper slaves to the song), but after that you could set looper to permanent overdub and have loop decay on to...

Re: Guitar Player top effects pedal roundup
Check out the Sourceaudio effects stuff, they're youtube famous for their 'hot hand' motion-controlled stuff, but the effects themselves are awesome es well, especially the Multiwave Distortion Pro. Don't trust the youtube demos of it, I have yet to see one that does it justice (even the sourceaudio...

Re: Boss RC 50
-Audio warbles when accelerating tempo. Is there a fix to this? It's warping the audio to fit your new tempo using that weeny little CPU in it, so no, there's no fix. Hey, on the Digitech Whammy pedals some people call that flaw the pedal's 'tone'. :) -If I lay down a textural drone, is there a way...

GlovePie and MidiYoke, there's currently a thread in the howto even. It's easily done, but not exactly plug & play.

Re: How do I control Ableton Live with my guitar pedal?
I don't think it can be done. You need a unit that can assign/send MIDI CCs or -notes with the footpedals. Most guitar pedals only send program changes and expression pedal output. I think the GT-10 is flexible enough to handle that kind of stuff if you're an advanced user, but it's about the only ...
