renaming files in browser: some analysis files not renamed

not 100% sure whether i'm just messing up something myself or if this is a real bug. since we have a gig tonight i thought i'd spend part of the day renaming part of my loop library since there were dozens and dozens of pretty undescriptively named files among them. about halfway through i started c...

the new genelecs are probably as kickass as the dynaudios... the old ones were really good but AFAIR they had a nasty little dip in the midrange that somewhat contributed to the clearness but made them worse than dynaudios for just listening music. the new ones should have less of that from what i'v...

raapie, i don't have the art vista virtual grand myself, just heard some demos and comments... i won't probably be getting it until i can afford a new laptop sometime next year since it probably won't run that well on this one. but it uses kontakt player / kompakt engine / whatever tech from NI so i...

i'm still in love with my bm6as. amazing clarity and reasonable lower freq reproduction.

second anything that uses the lame codec, it gives the best quality (or at least better than most). i think i used to use razorlame frontend on pc and it was very good.

the art vista virtual grand that notron fan posted is probably the best sounding sampled grand piano i've heard so far. it's cheap too (about 100 euros i think) and the artvista guy hans seems to be a really friendly and helpful guy worth supporting. but the set does require quite a powerful compute...

the feature was removed in live 5 and several people have already complained about it missing.

in the top left corner of the editor is a headphone icon that turns the previewing on / off, there seems to be no keyboard shortcut for it yet though.

i used to never read manuals unless there was just something i couldn't get past by trying myself. nowadays i pretty often actually do, but considering that i didn't before, it's a small wonder that i can actually use the software i work and play with. (i still have to print the part of the l...

about the only brand i've seriously heard little or no complaints about seems to be IBM. their laptops seem to be pretty expensive but they're well built. one thing however: the company that built laptops for IBM has now bought their whole laptop line and have apparently either launched or are launc...

smutek, good luck for your task! it's actually little less than a year since i quit - because i had to prove myself i could, because i realized how nasty product the cig companies have in their hands (once they manage to sell a few packs for you, they start getting a steady cash flow from you... and...

those clips probably use the operator synth which is a separate purchase. when you instantiate an operator in your live set without having a license for it, you go into demo mode where you can't save your live set - that's why it gives the warning.

for those uses you should get a soundcard / audio interface that has at least one stereo input (for recording your vinyl) and two stereo outputs (one for monitor/cue, one for the main output). using the built in input and output will most definitely result in either mediocre or very bad sound qualit...

cane creek, did you try the trash the preferences-trick btw? that seems to remove lots of anomalies for many people in live5, from unresponsive behaviour to crashing. (that is, locate your live 5.0.1 preferences folder and delete it - there's several posts about this on these forums) the reason i'm ...

can you program the buttons to send midi CC? you probably know this already but when you assign a CC to a switch, values higher than 64 turn it on and values lower than that turn it off. so you could set the button to first send CC with value 127 and with another press 0.

yeah, just trash the preferences. i'm pretty sure by now that it solves most of the extra slowness/crashing problems people have with 5.0.1
