You can hard map things in the APC40 to do the same thing but it's clip triggers aren't as great for pla...

I'm a little puzzled to learn that you only recently discovered this, but still.. Just to add on this; you also know that you can make this behavior the default for your entire drum rack? So that whenever you drag a sample into your drum rack Simpler will have a velocity sensitivity set by default ...
