Re: Walkthrough vids of creating a whole track in Live?

Cool, I will givE it another shot. I just found myself getting irritated when he just kept tweaking and tweaking... But then again, I guess that is pretty true to what you Actually do when making music.

Re: Walkthrough vids of creating a whole track in Live?

Cheers guys - thanks for those. I have actually seen them both before. I know I'm being difficult, but the first is too breif, and toms is too long. Not to knock it, but Tom obviously did his on the fly, which means it rambles just a little - my mind started to drift a little during the second hour ...

Walkthrough vids of creating a whole track in Live?

Just wondering if such a thing exists. It would be a helpful thing to watch for someone just starting out with Live. There are heaps of tutorials explaining how various feature of Live work, but it would be great to see one that shows how to put everything together, and complete a track. Thanks in a...

Re: Velocity adjustment is having no effect?

Ah, thanks very much for the further clarification.

For a beginner, it is these little things that leave you scratching your head at times. It makes sense, but if you are not looking for it, its not quite what you expect.

Re: Velocity adjustment is having no effect?

Cool, thanks for the heads up.

I wasn't aware that the velocity setting on Simpler could override the velocity markers in the clip - thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Velocity adjustment is having no effect?

You da man, Mr. Man.

That was exactly the issue. Obviously adjusting the velocity value on the simpler then throws out the balance between the volumes of all my drum sounds. Should the Velocity in Simpler value be set to 100% on each drum sound, so that the velocity can be modified in the midi clip?

Velocity adjustment is having no effect?

Hmmm.... I've a got a midi pattern from a drum rack, I'm adjusting the velocity sliders, but the volume of each drum hit is not changing. Sorry if this is a n00b question - but can anyone help me out here?

Thanks in advance!

'Live needs some SERIOUS vst lovin' to get the fatness out'

I read this comment in a forum somewhere. The poster seemed to imply that there was something inherently 'unfat' in the way Live sounds, and that external VSTs were the only way to remedy the problem. I'm still very much a beginner. Is there any truth to what was said in that post? And if so, what a...

Best way to A/B a reference track in LivE?

What is the best way to compare a project in progress with a commercially released reference track? Should I just drop the whole reference track into a channel and set the cross fader so that all my ]tracks route to one side of the crossfader, and the reference track is on the other side of the cros...

Is it possible to rename notes on the piano roll?

Say I have imported midi, or am using a plug in to trigger sounds externally of Live - is it possible to relabel the notes of the piano roll, so that I can see which notes are triggering which sounds at a glance? Obviously drum racks and impulse do this by default - I find it really handy, as I like...

Maschine users - tell me about your workflow?

I'm still trying to get my head around just what would be the best way to use Maschine with Ableton. Are most people using it right from the start as a plug-ing in Ableton, or are you starting tracks in stand-alone mode of MAschine, and then later bouncing iether audio or midi into Abelton to arrang...

^^^

Thats want I want to hear - they all look very tweakable, and offer the potential for some more varied, cool sounds.
