The talented professionals. If you are just doing electronic based music and not recording anything, and you are good at mixing yourself, there´s no real reason why a home mix can´t be as good as a studio mix.... But a studio is a place designed for the recording and mixing of audio, and the people ...

Phat conductor: It might not be your cup of tea musically, but I´d think you would be interested in some of the rhythmic principles that heavy metal outfits like sweden´s Meshuggah and Sol Niger use....you ever try those types of polymetric beats? It´s a very "glitchy kind of groove. http://www.yout...

I´ve been experiencing similar problems, and I think it´s a major flaw in Impulse - on the default settings, a sample should just be played back "as-is" I´ve had some success cutting out the click by slightly fiddling with the start and decay parameters, but it changes the sample just a bit... ARG! ...

Dead Kennedys had ethics and values. Correction: Jello Biafra has ethics and values. The rest of the DK line-up took him to court to wrest control of the DK catalouge from Alternative Tentacles on the grounds he had failed to seize the opportunities for making money for them, and one of their point...

I've found that after the first entry, it gives you a broad range of stuff... But as you click thumbs down or thumbs up, it narrows your parameters dramatically. For example, after about 30 thumbs up and 10 or so thumbs down, I've narrowed one station to funky breaks and jungle with only the occasi...

Re: seeking beat-making tips - in a kind of 'trip hop' mold.

Hey folks I wanted to put some feelers out there and see if we can share a bit of wisdom on the subject of creating drum & percussion tracks via methods other than live drums... I make my own music, with other people, for an easy comparison it's a bit like Massive Attack crossed with the Verve I gu...

Any Freesound enthusasts on this board?

Man, I just love http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ , this is IMO by far the best free sample site on the net. A huge database of sounds and they are all 100% copyright free. So, any of you using Freesound samples as the basis of your compositions? And if so, what gems have you come across? There is just...
