So now Abeltoners will look like a Star Trek away team on stage right?

Just wandering around the stage firing clips and tweaking effects on their phones....

Brilliant.

Here's how I have it all set up so far. I'm still learning because I'm pretty new to Ableton compared to other apps. I used the enigma software to set up the Trigger Finger and for the first 8 presets, I went from the lowest note 0 to 127 so every pad had a seperate note, like a keyboard. I use tho...

Hey guys, i'm trying to get my head around creating a setup of presests with my trigger finger.. for using the pads, do you asign them midi notes or cc numbers? i think i read that there are only about 20 cc numbers that are unassigned by default in live ? but if you use midi notes will it affect m...

Thanx to all, I give that I try! The reason I need to do this is because my controller came with Live lite. Lite limits the number of tracks/effects I can use. I don't want to "Go Live" and upgrade, so to speak, without knowing that I like this recording program. Thanx again! As a novice in digital...

Any tips for how to use all four inputs at the same time? it seems I can only use 2 at a time then click the button on the device to change to the other 2 inputs. Thanks They probably share the same A/D converter so I don´t think it´s likely that you can. The Line 6 TonePort I´m looking to buy has ...

Why restrict yourself to that style of recording when your computer is capable of so much more?

Apparently you were not recording automation.....were you recording in Overdub mode?

Did you forget to turn the record button off when reviewing your set maybe? I´m not sure how this works though - haven´t really worked with the arrangement view yet.

Cool, do you just run a lot of impulses or just assignig pads to the clip slots themselves? That´s something that I´ve been struggling with, which setup is better and more flexible... I also want to set up at least one preset that I can use to do dub stuff, I love the Interruptor´s delay plugs and w...

Hello everyone + Trigger Finger+Live for alt. hip-hop, dub

This is a both a "hi my name is...." thread and some basic questions: Well I finally got around to shelling out for a controller for Live and hope to be able to knock out some tunes now that I´ve finally got my head around Enigma....big breakthrough last night :D I haven´t posted all that much on th...

In my experience Live has a shallow, then very steep, then very shallow learning curve. When I first opened the program and did the tutorials, I felt like this would be a piece of cake, unlike just about any other audio program I´ve tried playing with (I´m not a trained musician in any way).....I gr...

There's another guy on the Tube that also does some pretty great acoustic breaks. can't find the link now but i'll post it when i do. -micah (aka kamoni) Would that be Paul Kodish, the Apollo 440 drummer? He was doing kick-ass acoustic dnb breaks at 170 bpm before anyone else that I know of. http:/...

If you know exactly how long the loop should be in beats/measures, why not just unlink the envelope, type in the required length, and then trigger it once?

I like the way Aesop rock did it - once in a while during intro´s/breakdowns you´d hear him yelling "promo, promo" in the background. It was done in such a fashion that it sort of melded with the music - you´d think it was a part of the song if not for the fact that it was a part of every single tra...

At 8 bars(what´s the bpm/length of the file in seconds?) 100 samples is nothing - probably just different dithering algorhythms.

Did you render one loop in Reason, and another loop in Live? If so, chalk it up to slight differences in the rendering programming...
