Re: Finding the perfect kick (Techno, House)

Everything about production seems difficult. I've been doing it on and off for a while now, but since I bought my MacBook I've had the power to do stuff I could only dream of with my aged Dell. I'm sure everyone has been there, but I have really good ideas but struggle to articulate them because my...

Massive list, only a few to add that haven´t been mentioned yet:

Lo-Fi-FNK - many great tracks

Hymie´s basement - 21st century pop song (Anticon project)

A lot of the more coherent Antico stuff like Why? could work well

And Datarock....very good band.

If you come across any good tutorials about rhythmic theory or drumming stuff, please include it.

Unfortunately I have very little to add

It means that you stopped the clip in session view, and thus have deviated from the arrangement. This had me stumped for the longest time too.

Click the "back to arrangement" button and it should kick in.

(i'm conveniently ignoring all the progrock/metal bands (e.g.) tool where drummers still play more complicated stuff.) Well there´s your answer right there - that´s where they went. Tool is a no-brainer of course, but there are tons more, mostly from sweden. Opeth, Meshuggah, Mastodon, Disillusion ...

Another warping question from a noob(somewhat interesting)

I am trying to warp Yoko Kanno's awesome "Chant One(Making of a Cyborg)" from the original Ghost in the Shell sountrack to fit a four-bar beat. Being a bit of a warping and beatmatching noob, perhaps someone would be willing to help me out. Like much of japanese music, it´s all about the silences in...

Impulse can send individual clip slots out to separeate audio channels. Load Impulse into your MIDI track, make 8 empty audio tracks and in each of them assign "audio from" to the Impulse sound in question. You can now individually tweak sends for all the different sounds. Another tip: make a 9th au...

Too bad the video isn´t quite in sync with the audio, but a stellar performance nonetheless.
