I wish Live was an AU or AAX Plug In that can be used in Logic or Pro Tools without Rewire. Using a Rewire Slave is not really good, after extensive use you cant play notes anymore because Latency compensation wont work right anymore. Plus Plug Ins cant be used...etc...etc.. At least 16 Midichannels...

please release ableton as a vst/au/rtas version

kore is dead so ableton could be the new all in one synth ....but hey, not in rewire.
if its a plug in that can host plug ins and max it would be a dream
in rewire it cant either host plug ins nor max nor can it sample

(and create new file)...like its possible with pro tools audio suite or in cubase

i want to simplify my setup. right now my ableton at home never starts without pressing the alt key if i haven my dongles with me. so im thinking of using a custom vst folder. and leave au's out. does that make sense or are au's more stable on the mac? any experiences?

thanks for clarifying that, but my main reason for askinfg for the feature is that i have to switch between machines very often. in fact, i work at a school and have a laptop and a stationary mac, thats 3 machines. what i want is a library with sounds that i can organize and carry around with me on ...

why is such a simple thing is not possible in a complex program like live? it could be done by automating the scene-triggering

the sampler should be able to save samples with the preset to a certian location.
right now only the project can do this. it should also be able to save the preset + samples as as self conatined file (i dont always want to do this saving with the whole project)

ableton live 8.03. does not connect to rewire with pro tools 8 here
it does connect to logic though
im on a macbook with systme 10.5.5. and the latest pro tools version.
it always says there is another open rewire masterprog. but doesnt connect to it.
