Re: Live 9 Pricing

But that's just it. The pricing has gone up significantly. See my previous post. Before this week, Standard 8 to Suite 8 Boxed was $309. Now its $469. The pricing hasn't gone up, there was an error which has now been corrected. The current pricing is in line with previous versions of Live. What are...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

Edit: Also (sorry), you are quoting Live 9 Boxed pricing at $469-- but the box version doesn't provide anything other than stickers, a manual, and an easier time on your internet connection. I don't think it's fair to use the $469 price as the base line "Suite 9 price" as it doesn't reall...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

So yes, you are forced to pay for the m4l addition whether you want it or not. The thing that is disingenuous, is that Ableton states it as being included. Well, it is, at a further, forced premium. They should have still left it as a separate add on, and none of this would have happened. If you lo...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?p=1445364#p1445364 Yes, this is true - if you upgrade from Suite 8 to Live 9 Standard, you'll retain all Instruments and other extras that you had with Suite 8. You won't get any of the new content with Live 9 Suite that isn't in Live 9 Standard, however. Coo...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

And for current Suite owners saying you are being forced into M4L -- that's just not true. Upgrade to Live 9 Standard. Anything you currently have licensed will continue to be licensed (like Operator, Analog, instrument packs, etc). That's worth knowing How do you know that's the case? Is there an ...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

Abelton reg to suite boxed: $309 OOPS, sorry mistake , now it's $469 This has been a common sentiment across the board -- but I don't get it. Comparing "this price" to that of a regular software update is not the same! There is a HUGE difference between Standard Live 8 and Live 8 Suite. I...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

NI, and their upgrade prices have always been fair. Heck EVERY other DAW company out there has reasonable upgrade prices. Ableton's prices are like buying the program new every time! really? i just took a cursory look at the official upgrade prices for the current versions of Protools, Cubase, and ...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

either what Live 9 does is or isn't worth the financial investment to you, and as you say there is nothing new about Live's pricing structure. i don't expect anybody to be happy with the fact that the price changed upwards, but some of the bitching about it is out of proportion with reality. No, th...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

@fishmonkey: No, because ultimately, we have the choice to say "Forget this, I'm getting off the yearly (well, previously before 8-9) sky high rental fee for Ableton. There's certainly plenty of other programs out there with reasonable update prices. Correct, we don't have to upgrade, and we ca...

Let's see, the recap so far as well as info for those who join the thread now" Ableton posts reasonable pricing on Live 8 to Live 8 suite upgrades on Thursday. Some make efforts to order this when they come home from work or for the weekend. Meanwhile next day Ableton re-adjusts the price $100...

Re: Live 9 Pricing

Well, I got a response today from Ableton Support about the $100 price hike/mistake/whatever (from a customer point of view it was a price hike.). They just apologized for the increase and that was it. I sent back another response about requesting the original price as I still think Ableton is a go...

Is that the same as the support message system? Should I send a separate email to the one you mentioned as well?
