Re: Best ~1TB SSD for a 2011 MBP 17?
Sounds great. I just put my Crucial through its paces yesterday, and it passed with flying colors. I used BFD2 with my v kit with the highest amount of velocity layers and the smallest buffer sizes for that and for Live and recorded a handful of tracks at the same time. Not one hiccup. I'm very plea...

Re: Best ~1TB SSD for a 2011 MBP 17?
I won't really be able to test it too much until Saturday. I usually make noise with some people and need to stream samples for BFD2 and/or Drum Racks as well as record 3-5 tracks of miced instruments. That should be a fair test. As of now, my iTunes runs a lot smoother. I have 850 GB and 45,000 son...

Re: Best ~1TB SSD for a 2011 MBP 17?
I just put the Crucial M500 960GB into my 2011 17" Macbook Pro - 2.2 GHz i7 with 16GB RAM. I only considered the Samsung EVO and this. This seemed to be the best deal for me and all the reviews I read were pretty clear that it would be a good choice. So far, so good. The only thing that messed ...

Re: V-Drums Roland TD-8
I do this all the time. I won't say I'm an expert, but I have all the basics down. I'm out of town for a few more days and not by my drums, but I can help out if you have questions. Unfortunately, the TD-8 only has the master stereo out plus 2 more outs, so recording a performance live is only good ...

Something like the Roland Voice Transformer?
Like the title says, is there anything to change the character of a voice from man>woman or woman>man? I used to use this on my VS-890 quite a bit. I haven't found a Max For Live effect either. M4L would be fine, too.

Re: Mixing headphones
I would say Audio Technica ATH-M50. Maybe a little thick sounding, but not too much. And the mids and highs are great.
Second, my Sennheiser HD-600. They seem to lack a little in the lows.
Sony MDR-7506 - I took them apart and use them as air hockey paddles.

Wow! Thanks! Downloading now. I've been building my own scrollable sounds rack to use with my V Drums. This should be interesting.

Re: Exporting samples from Sampler
Hmmmm....manual, you say? I will check into this mythical creature.
Honestly, after owning this since Live 6, I have only just hooked up my V Drums and am messing around with playing samples from my set. I will start digging through again. Thanks.

Re: External Instrument device - Audio from issue
Hmmm...I'm on a Mac and the same thing happens to me with either a VST or AU version of BFD2. I also tried it in Live 8 with the same results for both formats.
Sorry I can't be of further help.

Exporting samples from Sampler
So, say I take a bunch of samples in one long wave or aiff file and put start and end markers on it in Sampler to play each individual sound. Is there a way to export each sample section to its own wave or aiff file? Slice to Midi only reproduces the whole sample file with its start and end markers ...

Re: Where are the factory Ableton 9 templates?
Even better. As I look into this now, you can create the Templates folder in the User Library and, in Live, drag the templates over to it that you want.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Where are the factory Ableton 9 templates?
I was wondering this myself today. I just went to my Live User Library and right clicked and hit "Create New Folder" and labeled it "Templates" and dragged my ".als" file from a saved project from my desktop to it. I now have a place to create and store new templates. I...
