I use a Novation Nio 2|4 with no problem at all either.

1) go get the newest driver, reinstall, and reboot
2) if you still have problems, check out http://mail.focusrite.com/beta/ for beta drivers and try those

Thats a sweet option to have! Yeah, it's immensely useful. I woulnd't necessarily trust network MIDI to play the music at a live show - wayyyyyyy too many things can go wrong. But for Video or lights or whatever, it's fantastic. And much easier to run to the other side of a venue that a MIDI cable!...

I work on Macs, which have a built-in network MIDI driver. Just tell two macs to connect their MIDI and they will.

That could just as well be a hardware MIDI port going to whatever makes the video.
