Re: Need help getting into the sessionview workflow
Just chiming in to agree with some of the posts above. If you already have the song mapped out in your head, there probably isn't much of a reason to use Session View. I use Session View mainly to come up with individual parts and then try to work up an arrangement and then record what I have into A...

True, but ol' Monolake sure knows a lil' somethin' about making cool controllers.

Check out my pal Ben's page: http://www.imeem.com/averch
Lots of good tunes on there. There are some funky pics of me on there as a long-haired freak back in the 90s. He also has some playlists on there marked BISON - that's our band from way back when.

Re: 8 bar dead end
The neat thing about this method is that when I start copying and tweaking clips and then trying out different scenes, the shape of the track seems to reveal itself, where before I was banging my head against the wall wondering if this loop I've been listening to over and over is going to end up as ...

Re: 8 bar dead end
I've run into this same problem. Here's my solution: Make several copies of each of the clips in your loop. Go into each copied clip and do some editing, you can make subtle variations or big changes, whatever appeals to you. Start mix and matching all of your clips in different combinations in a se...

Re: New liquid dnb tune up- 'Somewhere Right Now'
Nice one! I really like the guitar work on here.
I'd suggest maybe making the drums a bit brighter and also adding a small amount of reverb to them. They sound very dry and compact compared to the lushness of the rest of the instuments.

Re: Buzz Bin: Ride the Black Diamond Train To Hell
Thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it. Definitely was going for an old skool techno build up with the snare. I'm a big fan of Frankie Bones and the Sonic Groove crew out of Brooklyn, and it's the kind of thing that shows up in a lot of his mixes, so I guess I was trying to emulate that ki...

Re: Southern Sweden techno lives again
I like it, especially all the modulations in the main melody
My only suggestion is maybe to add more percussion or do some variations on the beat.

Buzz Bin: Ride the Black Diamond Train To Hell
Got my second Ableton track posted on IMEEM. It is definitely darker and more mechanical than my previous one.
Please come and check it out - I would love to get some constructive criticism as I'm basically learning as I'm going along and I don't know if I'm on the right track or not.

Re: Ableton 8 released
Woot!
I just confirmed that my free upgrade is ready to be downloaded!
So here's a question for folks that have been testing or folks that already have the new package:
Should I expect any bugs or performance issues if I download today? Is it better to wait for patches or should I just go for it?

Re: All things tech house
Disagree.... dump the pitch envelope. Reason: Everybody's doing this and if you don't like to be replaced by any kid on this planet use anything but the pitch envelope (at least on the lead sound, nothing's bad about kick drum pitch envelopes) I'm confused. Isn't changing the pitch envelope one of ...
