Re: Akai LPK25 keeps stopping working
I was (obviously, I thought) commenting upon my own case with the LPK25. Your problem with the MPK seems unrelated (more like a Live problem if anything) and this thread is about the LPK anyway. No need for your attitude.

Re: Akai LPK25 keeps stopping working
Funnily enough, talking about dodgy USB connections, I decided on a whim last night to replace the original Akai-provided USB cable with the old one from my Korg Nanopad which I no longer use. Since then, it seems to be behaving itself. yur2die4, I think you could be on the right lines about USB pow...

Re: Akai LPK25 keeps stopping working
The strange thing is that I just tried cleaning up the registry, removing the old instances of 'USB Audio Device' and reinstalling the LPK25 into a fresh USB port, restarted and it worked OK. I then left Live open for about an hour while I went off to do something else. I came back and there was no ...

Re: Akai LPK25 keeps stopping working
I am currently experiencing the same problem. More often than not, the LPK25 won't transmit MIDI to Live (or any other program such as Reason, for instance) and requires a restart to make it work again. I've tried reinstalling the driver and switching USB ports. This seemed to fix it for a while, bu...

Re: Any suggestions for Field Recorders?
Three notes about the Zoom H1 (and I'm not sure this goes for all units): 1) This thing eats batteries. Don't plan on making long uninterrupted recordings on a single AA. You'll need the USB power for that. 2) The cover for the battery is little loose. I have to use some tape to prevent rattling so...

Re: Any suggestions for Field Recorders?
I can recommend the Zoom H1. It is very cheap and the recording quality is excellent for its price. You will need a windscreen if you want to use its internal mics though (probably true of most recorders). I use mine with some binaural mics I built myself and the results are, at least to me, really ...

Re: NI Sale - Server Crash - Been able to get on this weekend?
I've also had the IE6 error message today when trying to access the NI front page from Firefox. However, direct links to the shop seem to be working OK for me in FF now. So try this:

I'm interested in the Rig Kontrol 3 as well, but put off by the potential import duty.

Re: is there a vst plug like Reason Sream 4 (sound & layout)
When I first switched from Reason to Live, the number one thing I missed was the Scream4, and especially the tape setting. Basically because I used to use it on everything. Later I did manage to create a rack (with a Compressor, Saturator and EQ) that emulated the sort of sounds I liked. It was clos...

Re: One question before buying sampler
This has been commented upon many times on the forum. It's a real oversight for Sampler to be missing functionality inherent in Simpler. It also renders the 'Simpler -> Sampler' function unusable if you have made any modulation to Sample Start and other parameters that Sampler lacks.

Re: Analog for the poor
Have a look around on the net for synth samples and drag them into a Simpler. If you are able to in Intro, rack a few Simplers together with different samples. Play about with filters, LFOs and looping. You can get some great sounds that way. Otherwise, there are plenty of decent free VST synths abo...

Re: drum dynamics and response from midi drums.
I'm using a TD-6V to trigger things in Live, and I have experienced no problems with latency personally. I connect via MIDI directly into an M-Audio 1010LT PCI interface.

Re: drum dynamics and response from midi drums.
Another thing you might want to do is turn off the 'retrigger' parameter in Simpler/Sampler. The little R button next to the pull-down where you choose the number of voices. If this is on snare rolls and the like will sound very unnatural.

Re: Korg Nano Pad Help.
Did you have any luck Dima210? I've just tried my NP on my laptop and it does the same thing. Looks like it is faulty. First a NanoKey that lost its top keys and now a NanoPad with pads that don't work. At least I didn't pay more for these bits of crap.
