The same rule as for the .als files is to be applied to the clip settings saved in the .asd file: Live 4 cannot read the clip settings saved by Live 5. Live 5 will most likely read the ones saved by Live 5 beta. Live 5 will read those saved with Live 4. When Live 5 will be ready (and if you are not ...

The compressed formats (mp3, ogg, flac) are decoded in advance,
when dragging into Live or opening a Song, and kept in a "Decoding Cache"
as long as there's enough space. So there should be no CPU hit.

Re: getting a 2nd 'ghost' file when recording

This file appears when you arm a track. The next recording goes
into it. The file remains unusable until recording has finished.
It is prepared in advance to reduce the delay when starting
a the recording. When you disarm the track, its removed.

I mailed the developers of audacity and they said it's a live 4 thing. This is a problem in Live 4 - audacity will be working simply as an audio editor on the file you supply. Note that you will have to export the audio file you have edited, and load this exported file back to Live 4. Richard Ash I...

Hi Killerwatts, is it a certain project that causes the red D? If yes, could you send it to me (without the sample files if they are too long). Sometimes, certain hard disk / BIOS version combinations cause such disk problems, but anyway I'd like to know if we have a (reproducable) bug here, or some...

Zetay,

what you experience is that the data does not arrive
in time from the drive. Maybe there is some way in the
BIOS or otherwise to prevent the drive from going to sleep?
Or at least to set a longer time interval until it is put to sleep?
