Re: A cheaper MIDI guitar solution?
WTF. How in my hours of googling around for MIDI guitar options did that thing never cross my path? I'm getting one as soon as I get my next paycheck. Truth is I read about this in either Sound on Sound or one of the Computer/Future Music mags. Google is great, but Sound on Sound (or even Computer/...

Re: NanoKONTROL not working properly
Hmmmm....well, I'd test another piece of MIDI gear on the same port to rule that out, if it works, then contact Korg. I've had my nanoPad replaced without even sending in the buggy one, so they are pretty good about replacing faulty gear (at least imo)

Re: cant stand kings of leon thread
well, maybe you should join the Pop Dream 2010 crowd down at the Cow Palace, and try some of the MDMA while you're at it.

Re: NanoKONTROL set up
once you've edited and saved the settings, did you "Send Scene Data" OUT to the nanoKontrol? There is a bit of (firmware?) that needs to be updated with those settings otherwise it ain't gonna work.

Re: APC20 vs Launchpad
The APC20 + a Korg nanoKontrol is gonna run around $250 anyways, many sites, including sweetwater.com, have recently reduced the APC40 price to $299. While you can emulate a bit of the APC40 device/track controls via Myrs script with the nanoKontrol, I'd say get the APC40 for the extra $50.

Thread on DJTT showing users studios. Good stuff. Also, check out Sound on Sound, either monthly or their website, they have a monthly feature "fixing" random people's studios.

Re: Survey for school: favorite type of music?
Does "music" count? I can't say I have a favorite genre, let alone narrow it down to a band or even further to a track. I just love music, as a whole, as a beautiful art.

Re: Drum Racks and Velocity
ok, so is the Drum Rack part of Simpler instrument? Again, Im new here. What I've done is dropped a drum rack into my empty midi track, browsed thru and put together my "kit" and then send MIDI tracks to the drum rack.

Re: best way to create '' sub clip '' from main clip
Drop your 8 bar bass loop into clip 1 slot, ctl+d (cmd+d if mac) to duplicate (do it for as many variations as you want). Now in Clip 2 slot go to clip view in lower right, there should be a bracket that encompasses the playing section ( will have arrows on the ends like this < > )or you can in the ...

Re: i need a new synth, for keys and bass
For bass, I'd say go with Rob Papens SubBoomBass. As far as pianos, PianoTeq (which I can't say I've used as RP SBB) has been getting great reviews and the sounds I've heard on their website seem pretty sweet.
Hope that helps

Re: best way to create '' sub clip '' from main clip
I hope I'm understanding this correctly otherwise my answer will make me look stoopid. I have, for mixing 2 songs together, taken and loaded the songs into individual clips on tracks (say 1 & 2) and then went through and found the bits I wanted and looped them, this should work with a simple bas...

Drum Racks and Velocity
Hi! Im Paul and I'm an abletonholic. Actually, I am a new convert to Live, and working with drum rack recently I found that when programming a clip (say Kick drum) that while I edit the velocities they still play seemingly at the same volume/level. Am I missing something here? Any help is appreciated.
