A way to check would be to watch for your P3's midi output before it hits Live in a software like Midi Monitor or ShowMIDI (sorry I don't know the name of similar app on WIndows)

Oh, if you're trying to do this mod to Modulat then just update it to the latest version, I'm pretty sure it's been updated recently to add this feature.

Especially with P3 + M4L, I ran many times in this situation thinking it was too obvious it didn’t need a report. Several times I did report anyway and figured it was actually worth it as the thing was unnoticed.
Imo you should report since you have a good grasp on the issue.

Make sure the track is armed.
