What's it to do with an apparently racist Dutch guy anyway ??
I'd stick to the 'it just works' and having conversations with yourself ...

Re: question on CPU load
live's devices use no cpu overhead when no audio is being passed through - all vsts and aus do (as live does not yet support vst3, which can be set to use no CPU overhead when there is no audio being passed through) freezing tracks saves on CPU but loads into ram, so takes more ram. flattening saves...

Re: question: charge for doing some video editing and stuff ...
btw - I'm not attacking those who do this for a living and have their own personal rates, merely stating a personal opinion. I don't do this professionally, although I am competent in the area of video editing to an extent as described above. If you can survive, or better, thrive or prosper with you...

LSZ and MW - I am just a different type of user to you guys and that's cool. I've had disagreements with you both before, but nothing that degenerated into vicious personal attacks, nor did either of you post obscene googled pics or 'requote' a quotation to be insulting. I also respect you as musici...

Re: Production Template.... what's in yours?
None. If I was DJing I would set up a template for that situation, but I prefer to just do it ad-hoc as I don't want all my tracks to sound like they came from an automated machine, with the same racks, FX and so. For studio work you don't need a limiter on the master for speaker protection, if you ...

Re: question: charge for doing some video editing and stuff ...
music and video work is a bit different to other things such as software coding or web design. Unless you're a real established name, you have to negotiate in advance with the client. I am a semi-pro at video editing, having produced various seminar and educational DVDs with Vegas and Final Cut Pro ...

Re: dum, report in please. dum, report.
With no disrespect, it's a bit of an assumption to say that dum and MW were the only ones constantly against the Iraq war and the tactics employed by the USA and their allies. I have always been against it, as I'm sure have many others, we just chose not to get into most of the political threads. If...

Re: Recommend pitch shifter please
unfortunately yes, i-lok. Soundtoys plugins are used in most professional Protools HD studios (TDM versions), where i-lok is needed to run protools, so not an issue for them - however, as someone who uses a laptop myself, I understand the problems of the dongle (although I run Cubase as well as Live...

Soundblender in particular for your needs, it models an Eventide H3000 and then adds in all kinds of other processing options too. All of their effects are awesome though.

Re: Crystals plug in
Too many to mention - I don't use it that often these days as I have Absynth, Zebra, Korg Legacy Digital and Live Suite with Operator to name a few. It is an FM/subtractive hybrid synth, something like Blue by Rob Papen uses a similar idea. It's a pretty CPU intensive synth and I don't think they've...

totally agree that knowledge is power and with experience and a trained ear in a reasonable monitoring situation that you can do at least a reasonable effort. Any kind of self-awareness and self-development is good - and you would be surprised at how many times a client is not totally happy with eve...

I never once directly called for dum to be banned in case anyone is curious, as we seem to enjoy gossip ... not once ever. I never asked Ableton to ban him at any time and my conscience is totally clear over that. He did it to himself. I am not attacking the dude, merely stating an opinion that peop...

The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour in psychologist speak...we all know the mods here do a bit of purging ...
