If you set up a deal with Midiman (or anyone else) to distribute T-shirts in the US, you should include your Livelight USB lamp as well. It has the same problem in that shipping costs as much as the unit itself.

Re: tap tempo/loop recording
Yes, I second this idea. I have experimented with using Live as a JamMan type instrument already, using MIDI control of the session view. But this is limited by the tempo set on the screen, and I have to have a drum loop playing in order to keep the newly-recorded loops in sync. This could be a whol...

recording via midi note
I don't have a solution to your problem, but I do have a similar problem. I've been working with ableton techs, but have been unable to solve it.
Please email your info to:
mueller@ableton.com
Maybe they can find some common cause between the two of us.

For REX files in the meantime, you could use pHATmatic Free or Pro in an outboard app, and run it through Live. http://www.bitshiftaudio.com This might also be a good argument for VSTi support *within* Live. There was also another thread where someone said they were developing a loop slicing VST plu...

I've had an idea about a workaround for this, although I haven't tried it yet. The button that arms the track for recording can be assigned to a MIDI note. You could set up a 2nd track with the same fx and settings as the first, and then arm it to record/monitor your live input after the first track...

In the track input/output menus of the session view (pages 51-52 of the manual,) the middle pull-down menu allows you to sellect which inputs to use. The default setting uses inputs 1 and 2 as a stereo pair, which results in your mono signal coming out of the left speaker only if it is jacked in to ...

Live will sync with your MPC. Live can be a MIDI clock master or slave. If the MPC sequencer can output MIDI commands, it can control a lot of functions in Live. Live does not output any MIDI other than clock, so it won't have much control over the MPC other than sync. I guess, technically, there is...

Re: usb audio/midi device for pc
I've actually had good luck with my Quattro. With the thread priority set to "high" and my latency set to "very low" I get 12ms latency on the audio input and 11ms latency on the audio output, a total of 23ms latency for processing of live playing. That is not a world record, but...

MIDI launch of recording screwed up
I mentioned this under another thread, and I also emailed it to kleine@ableton.com with no response yet. I thought I'd post it again under its own thread to see if anyone else has this problem. Since 1.5, I can not use an external MIDI controller to launch recording on a track. When I try, I either ...

I've noticed that Live can't see the Audiosport ASIO driver unless the M-Audio icon is in the System Tray (forgive me if you are not a Windows user.) There is a small *.exe file, I can't remember the name since I'm not at my Live computer, that the Live installation process configures to run automat...
