Re: Using a Limiter for performance
When performing w/ Live one should use a limiter on the master channel as a last ditch effort to prevent clipping. Personally, I use the free W1 limiter: it outputs the exact same sound as the Waves L1 as it is a clone of the L1.

Re: creating tech-house bass
Separating the bass into low and mid/high as suggested above can work well, especially considering that you can apply various effects to the mid/upper end of the bass (e.g. LFO on the cut-off, a phaser, etc.) to give it a bit of movement and life.

Re: Massive question
Use the 8 macro knobs to automate parameter changes in Massive. That is, set one of the macro knobs to control a parameter (e.g. if using macro knob #1, drag the '1' into the box under the parameter you want to automate and define how much control #1 will have over that parameter) and then use your ...

How do I Polish a Recorded Set/Mix?
Hi guys. I have a few Qs that I'd really appreciate some help with :) The basic issue: once I have recorded my set to a separate channel in Live 7 (I simply create a blank audio channel, arm it for recording, and set it to resampling) and I have a wav of the set, what do I do to the wav to get it re...

Re: Exporting Audio doesnt sound right
I'm not sure if this will affect the way the tune sounds to your ears, but judging from many threads I've read on the topic you should probably start by turning dithering off. Also (this may be rather obvious but) be sure that you select 'Master' in the rendering window to ensure that the rendered W...

Matt Herdman.
He opened for Dubfire at WMC this year! His productions are top-notch, especially now that his sound is becoming much more techno-influenced (as evidenced by his latest mixes for onesandzeroeslive)

EQing when DJing with Live?! Advice...
Hi guys :) Although I've been producing with Live for a while now I just started learning how to DJ with it. This weekend I normalized all my tracks (via MP3gain), detected their keys via RapidEvolution 2, and warped the tunes in Live (major thanks to Vinkalmann for writing up that amazing guide to ...
