Hi Tom, I bet even a stripped down XP will use a fair amount of RAM. I use a Toshiba notebook live with 768mb and Live 4 and a FW410 - and the only time I had a problem with this setup was when the performance settings in XP were set to Programs and not Background Services - then I got the mad CPU o...

Hi All, I finally installed 5.0.2 on my studio PC - which is getting old now - and I have had no problems at all. Very little increase on the CPU usage compared to 4.0.3, and only the occaisional spike. And this is also when I sometimes forget to disable my internet connection/firewall etc! So, I am...

250 is the model number......in this case 80 is for 80 ohm. They make other versions, like 200 ohm, I believe. I have had a pair of these for several years. Yes, they are very comfortable and the sound quality is smooth and has great bass response. I have done some pre-mixing with them and then late...

[quote= The biggest difference here is of course that a dj CAN play a good song without being talented, clever, gifted, artistic or good. The musician cannot. [/quote] Yep, copy that. I saw a poster advertising a gig recently with pictures of three DJs looking at their laptops screens/mixers and I t...

OK, have a workaround by creating a midi track and arming it - so it accepts the midi footpedal info and transmits it out of Live.

seems like it should have done that anyway with the preferences set up to transmit....but WTF, is working now.

M Audio Firewire 410 midi out

Hi All, Am using a Behringer midi footpedal to control Live 4 (using the midi ports of a M Audio 410) and I would like to be able to send program change messages to a POD as well. So I have connected the Midi Out of the 410 to the POD - and it only seems to work when the 410's THRU button is pushed ...

Still with 4.0.3.

I bought the upgrade, but am still using a set created in 4 in a show.

Waiting until 5 is more stable.

I found a 19" Samsung 910t on Pricerunner.com - was about 300 ukp.........has DVI in which I wanted so I could run 2 monitors. I think the dvi in is an advantage, could be wrong. Anyway it is a fantastic screen and has no dead pixels, which is the advantage of screens made by Samsung, LG or som...

HI, I was in the same situation and did find the Live interface and approach a bit different at first...but the many ways in which you can use Live to create got me in the end - I think it is a much more open ended system than Acid (which I return to using from time to time for more linear writing, ...

Thanks,

So 5 is a bigger departure from the previous versions..............

Seems like some folks are having probs with the mp3 caching, until it gets sorted I'd just keep converting the ones I need to wavs or aiffs.

What are the big changes inside Live 5

Even though I upgraded to 5, I have been in the middle of theatre tour and after seeing some of the CPU and other glitches people were getting with Live 5, I decided to stay on the fence until 5.0.2 because I figured the company lappy I am using onstage wouldn't be able to take any extra work. Anywa...

I guess Ill put another gig of ram in and see what it does. I have norton and adware, so I dont think I have any viruses or spyware. Chris, make sure that anything like norton and adware, or any other application that runs in the background is turned off. Go ahead and turn off the internet, basical...
